What We Do
The Koffler Group Investments is a global diversified family investment office that has established itself as one of the top decile of family offices, while providing consistent returns in the portfolio, distributions to the family, and contributions to charities.
Industry
Financial
Color Preferences
The Real Estate division of The Koffler Group uses red, so we'd like to distinguish ourselves from them, while still maintaining a very strong connection with the company as a whole. The following concepts are in line with our goals: Blue - Knowledge, Trustworthy; Green - Wealth, Success, Growth. However, we are open to new ideas as long as it "fits" with the overall corporate brand.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The company as a whole (The Koffler Group) uses a pillar as its logo, but the Investments division would like to distinguish itself from the Real Estate side while maintaining continuity. So we'd like to stick with the pillar theme, but it needs to be updated and modernized. Please see our company website: http://www.thekofflergroup.com/. Additional buzz words that may be useful: partnership, longevity, integrity, experience, charitable/community. It should be an updated look. If the current one looks like a 1970s shag rug, the updated one should be the new millennium glass tower. Clean lines, graphic feel, updated colors.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

#4 - like font choice - best fit with existing corporate logo and industry
Like the idea behind #1, #2, #3, but none of them are quite right.
#1 - maybe a different font, and I think I prefer the "group investments" stretched across the bottom rather than centered.
#2 - like colors but not "the" on top of the pillar.

#10 - doesn't fit in with corporate brand enough, but would love to see what else you can do. We'd like some more diversity of designs to choose from, so although we need to "fit" with the corporate brand, we appreciate your creativity and your attempt to step out of the box a bit. Thanks!

Designs #7, #8, #9, #2, and #3 - use of lowercase for Koffler doesn't convey the stability, knowledge, experience...strength we're looking for.
In designs #7-9 the pillar is too simple and colors are too muted. Additionally, the pillar concept above the "FF"s isn't translating well in #7 and #8

Design #5's grouping of the text is nice. Since the investments group is a division of the larger company, the placement of "investments" fits best this way. However, placing the pillar over the text may limit the versatility of the design. It would look great on a website, but how well will it fit in print media, like stationary and business cards....something to think about.

Fauzan, for design #4 - please work some more on the placement of the text. I'm not crazy about the placement of "the" here and consider my comment about about investments as a division. I'd like to see what else you can come up with.

Thanks to all for the submissions, keep them coming!

Hi Ape,

Please see my comment above left last night re your entry #10. I appreciate the creativity, but it just didn't "fit" well enough with the corporate brand. We need something that looks updated and maintains a strong connection to corporate. Please see our website listed in the company brief. It's pretty outdated, but the Real Estate division doesn't want to change it. The investments side needs the update. Your entry was interesting, but I think it was too round in design to fit well. I'd love to see more from you though. Alot of the designs submitted so far are pretty safe. Thanks for taking a risk!

Design #11 is too whimsical. It mimics the work of another designer and takes it even further in the wrong direction. There are too many colors used and what is there isn't bold enough. The typeface is not strong enough or clean. Please try again with a new concept.

Hi Designers,

So I'm taking some advice from postings on the forums to CHs and ranking designs by concept rather than absolute favorites. If a designer has what I consider to be multiple concepts, then he/she may be ranked multiple times in the top 5 or so, but variations of those concepts will be ranked lower even if I like them better overall. I hope this is helpful to you. Please let me know if there is any feedback that I can give that would be helpful.

Please keep in mind that the investments division of our company thrives on partnership with other high net worth wealth holders in the industry. This extends to both billion dollar families that are searching for an investment partnership and financial managers with a new and unique products who are looking for investors. We need these people to trust us. They need to believe that we not only have great ideas, but we have the knowledge and experience necessary to make those partnerships succeed better than anyone else. Hence, stability, experience, knowledge, intelligence, partnership ... these are our key concepts.

I know this is really abstract, but that's why we *need you*! We need your creativity to translate these ideas into something that a potential partner will feel when they look at our logo. I'm definitely NOT a designer, so I like to see your creativity. That said, we do have to stick with the pillar theme (remember this is an update, not a totally new design), but I'd like to see much more variety within that theme.

Also, everyone is really picking up on the green color scheme. Please show me what else you've got.

Looking forward to seeing some more entries. Keep up the great work!

Re Designs #16 & #19: Aesthetically I like this design, but it doesn't incorporate the pillar. That's really the icon that conveys the foundation of our corporate message: stability. All the other descriptors for our brand should be viewed as supporting that primary message.

Duminda,

Thanks for the new take on the pillar! I like the color combination of design #20 best, but the placement of the pillar in design #21 better. Nice work!

Hi Designers,

Thanks for all the new designs! Here is some feedback on the new ones:

Designs #24 - #30: #24 - This is a good attempt. I like the combination of the pillar with the K, but I think the pillar is too slim. It looks weak. Thanks for the new concept on #25, can you work on this some more? The link to the pillar is a little weak here, but I'd like to see where else you can take this by making the pillar icon stronger. Designs #26, #27, #28, #29 and #30 lost the pillar entirely. Nice designs, but the connection to corporate is in name only. There's no link to the icon. If you can incorporate the pillar somehow, I'd like to see more from you.

Designs #31, #32, and #33 - Thanks for the new concept on the pillar theme! The color palate of #31 is too reminiscent of Christmas. #32 - I'm not against using both blue and green, but the colors don't interact well in this design. I like #33 the best of the three. However, as a division of the larger group, I think "investments" should be subordinated rather than highlighted in relation to the company name. Can you also try some font variations? I'm not crazy about this one.

Keep them coming! Thanks for all your hard work!

I have to step away for a moment, but I'll post more design specific comments in a couple of hours. FYI - I've ranked the designs based on a set of criteria from the powers that be and according to my preferences. They will likely get juggled quite a bit during the judging phase. Thanks for all your hard work!!

In addition to the feedback above, I wanted to give some more design specific feedback as we reach the home stretch. So here goes. Hope it is helpful.

When it comes to typeface, most of the designs fit well with the current corporate font. Some have strayed a bit to far. #1, #2, #3, #7, #8, #9, #31-#33, #40, #50, #51, #64-#66, #78, and #79 in particular are not a good fit with corporate. Designs #55 & #56, these are a bit different from corporate. A risk, but it might be close enough.

Design texture, we were looking for very clean lines, which many of you did really well. #55 technically took a departure from this in terms of texture. It's a risk, but again, I think it's interesting. Not sure how it'll fly with the powers that be yet.

The following designs concepts work well in terms of simplicity, while maintaining some visual interest: #14, #22, and #63

Several of the designs have a techy feel to them largely because they resemble website buttons a bit too much: #16, #19, #54, #67-#69.

The pillar design in #57-#59 is not simple enough. These come across as pretty busy.

Hopefully this gives you an idea of why we've ranked the top 27 concepts as we have. And I hope it gives you some final ideas before we wrap up.

We'd love to see more!

Thanks to everyone!
