Hi, here my approach. Kite and paddle surfers use to be cool people. Cool is opposite to obvious, then my design avoid illustrating a cup of coffee or an evident kite, etc. As a brand of trousers will not name it self trouser and show a trouser in its logo. Or a car brand does not show exactly a car, perhaps a roundy shape for the car, etc. So in the same way I ve applied clear suggested kites many of them the social fact as you mentioned is key and the shadow of one of them turns in a smile mouth > good mooth and food issue. Think that in that way you can use your logo as a cool image not just a commercial sign. No one woul like to use a shirt with a cup of coffee sillouette as an obvious advertising.
Also the logo is gonna be placed mainly on the location where all the elements around are telling you this is a kite-paddle thematic bar. Think of main brands will go this way. Of course all these is just my suggestion. Sorry about this long text, I am not used to send just a "nice draw" and cross my fingers, I try to get involved on each project. Any comment or feedback will be appreciated and useful to meet the best results. cheers, Adrian

Hi - I like your line of thought. Can you play with the colors a bit? I like the orange but the turquoise comes out too green and too light - maybe make it a bit more blue.
Now that you mentioned the smile, I see it but I didn't notice it before. I think it's a great idea but can you maybe change the shape a little, maybe similar to the smile on your logo (the yellow soyelchino face), to hint more that it's a smile? The one you have is too symmetrical with the big kite above. Or maybe just tilt the green kite above more. Perhaps play with the shape and size of the kites although I like the fact that they don't look exactly like kites, so maybe try making them like the shape of the smile on your logo but upside down? Thank you!!

Another thing to try is maybe make the letters smaller and the kites bigger but still different shapes?
