Texas AccessLogo Design Contest

Thanks for helping out guys and good luck! I will try to be as helpful and responsive as possible. Please try to stick with the colors shown at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Texas. Don't fear 3D or shadow effects as sometimes they can create really cool effects. GL

The emphasis should be on:
1. Texas Access (company name)
2. TDLR Registered Accessibility Specialists (who we are)
3. Wheelchair symbol (our business type)
4. State of Texas shape (the area our business serves). 'Texas' is already in the company name, so having the state shape as part of the logo is not required. Just an idea.

I've just completed my first sort. Please note that the order has absolutely NO bearing on a specific preference at this time as I may change my mind tomorrow. But the first several are the general direction I am heading. Thank You!

I've completed my rankings for today 07/06/2009. I am blown away by you guys...the talent is just amazing. Right now several are tied for first place as far as I'm concerned. If I could rank more than one entry as first on the list, there would be at least 4 or 5 in first place. So please don't assume that the Client Rank is entirely accurate. It isn't. I will provide additional feedback with tweak requests on each entry in the next couple of days. Thanks!

NOTE: I am formally ranking ALL entries received to-date at approximately 5:00PM CST (GMT-5) on Friday, July 10th, 2009. So the Rank order of Entries will be accurate for the first time. At that time I will be providing feedback via Private Messages to each person that has submitted a logo of interest, to make any tweaks or changes. This will allow a 24 hour window of opportunity prior to judgment period at the end of the contest. If you do not receive a PM on 07/10/2009, it means your logo is fine the way it is. Thanks!

I have thoroughly reviewed and formally ranked all entries received as of this moment (5:15 pm cst). All entries have been moved from the 'unsorted' and 'non-interesting' panels to a ranked position for point allocation. Of the entries now ranked, currently #40 is in first place for the contest prize. I never really moved #40 once it came in; It stood out and really popped. It is the benchmark to beat for what little time's left in this contest. The first 8 ranked entries still have a chance to win if a fairly bold move is made prior to the end of the contest.

This has been one of the hardest things I have had to do for quite awhile. You guys have amazing talents and all are to be commended for the thought and effort that went into each and every design. For those that don't win this one, I'll have 2 more contests in the near future and will make sure to PM an invite. Thank You!

This contest is on the home stretch now, with only a 3 hours left. What I was hoping would NOT happen, as bugy indicated in his April 10th, 2009, forum topic 'Attention Contest Holders! (CH's)', is an onslaught of new entries submitted in the final hours; Entries that may very well tilt the balance. The quality of the work is amazing. For me it's like walking into a grocery store and looking for a new flavor of cereal, only to encounter rows and rows of different types and all have possibilities! Good luck all!

GREETINGS ALL! AND THANKS AGAIN FOR A SUCCESSFUL CONTEST.

REGARDING RANKING: BEYOND THE FIRST DOZEN OR SO THERE IS NO FREAKING WAY THAT I CAN ACCURATELY RANK ALL OF THE ENTRIES RECEIVED TO-DATE. MANY ARE JUST THAT GOOD. THEREFORE, DON'T ASSUME THAT BECAUSE AN ENTRY GETS A RANK OF "65" IT'S NOT WORTHY OF A MUCH HIGHER RANK. I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE THAT SUBMITTED AN ENTRY AT LEAST GOT RANKED FOR POINT PURPOSES. SO I STARTED DRAGGING NEW UNSORTED ENTRIES OVER TO THE RANKING PANEL, WITH A COUPLE OF THOSE INTENTIONALLY MOVED UPWARDS. IT'S A BRUTAL DRAG AND DROP PROCESS.

I ABSOLUTELY LOATH HAVING TO PICK A SINGLE WINNER WHEN SO MANY OTHERS TRIED SO HARD AND CAME UP WITH DESIGNS THAT ARE SO WORTHY IN THEIR OWN RIGHT. THIS MAY SOUND CAMPY, BUT DAMN IT, YOU'RE ALL WINNERS AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED!

HOWEVER, A DECISION MUST BE MADE, AS DIFFICULT AS THAT IS, AND THAT DECISION IS TO AWARD THE PRIZE TO "THE B". HIS #40 ENTRY JUST ROCKS AND DESCRIBES EVERYTHING ABOUT US...

THE STAR, WHICH SYMBOLIZES THE STATE OF TEXAS, PROVIDING SUPPORT (KNOWN AS THE LAW) BEHIND PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, AS THEY TRAVEL ALONG AN ACCESSIBLE ROUTE (OR, CIRCULATION PATH), WITH US..."TEXAS ACCESS" BOLDLY SURROUNDING OR ENCOMPASSING THAT EFFORT.

IT WAS AN ENTIRELY BRILLIANT MOVE BY "THE B" AND I DON'T KNOW THIS FOR A FACT BUT I WANT TO BELIEVE THAT HE HAD SUCH A CREATIVE VISION TO "SEE" THIS RELATIONSHIP. WHEN I SAW HIS FIRST ENTRY I SAID "OMG THAT'S US! THAT'S WHAT WE'RE ALL ABOUT!" EVER SINCE THEN I WAS LOOKING FOR OTHER ENTRIES THAT SAID THE SAME THING. MANY OF YOU GOT VERY CLOSE, OTHERS WERE SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL WORKS OF ART, ALL MOST EXCELLENT!

I WILL BE HOLDING 2 MORE CONTESTS FOR MY OTHER BUSINESSES IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE, SO I HOPE TO SEE YOU THEN. THANKS AGAIN AND GOOD LUCK!
