Our Ideas & Additional Information
Pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) is a rare disease that cause narrowing of small pulmonary arteries. Pulmonary arteries make the link between the right ventricle of the heart and the lungs, were blood is oxygenated. Patients suffering from PAH suffer mainly from breathlessness, and may experience heart failure and oxygenation deficit.
PAH is mainly a pulmonologist speciality but expert centers manage patients in multidisciplinary team, involving several specialities like cardiologie, intensive care, genetics, immunlogy, angiology, psychiatry, etc. Treatment of PAH seek pulmonary vessels vasodilatation in order to reduce the resistance to blood flow through the lung and increase lif expectancy.
So the logo should express that Switzerland is organized in a rich network of multidisciplinary expert centers dedicated to research and management/support of patients with pulmonary hypertension.
Official languages in Switzerland are French, German and Italian. English is widely used. The 4 languages should be represented in the logo.
The enclosed log are the current one of the SSPH (logo SSPH) and the logo used in the Geneva Pulmonary Hypertension program (Logo PHP)
