Do you want it basic? no frills? Maybe just type with a swoosh or something like that? I threw in the gray squirrel since I think it's your state mammal...but I'm getting you want it serious and not playful...is that right also?
I don't thingk that playful is the diretion---I am thinking young urban contemporary---think anthropologie store---we are really a very vintage surf boutique!!!But I like the swoosh!!
I think I may want to add the tag line "a surf lifestyle boutique" use your discretion about placement--- Also...think about a big sign...how do we make it POP?
This is a serif font...do you want to stay with serif...or go to san serif fonts like Arial is one example... Do you want light middle weight or bolds?
I can do one of each if you like.

I have such a hard time deciding what I like until I see it---it seems when I suggest trying something---I end up likiing what you have done better---clearly you have a much better eye for design---but I absolutely know it when I see it!! I would love to see the other fonts---and anything else you think might give it jsut a twist!!
I tried these possibilities with various fonts...if you don't see something you like you may be able to visualize a possibility based on these and describe that...
There are 1000s of fonts to choose from but there are less choices based on categories of fonts
Tere---- We just keep going back to this one---I think it will be great on a big signa nd as a sandblasted sign---but wil also work on business cards... We do like to use SU on a lot of stuff---call ourselves the Su crew...could you play around with a wave and an SU also....but I jus tkeep being drawn back here!
I'm adding the entry with the SU...let me know what you think and if you see anything else that you may want.on it...I didn't change the font to be consistent with the full full logo.

Okay---after some target market research----boutique scares guys off of being a real core shop----So I guess we either say surf shop---or we leave it blank!!
I included a revison with Surf Unlimited words offset under the wave. I needed to alter the wave just a bit in order for these to balance out. Additional word 'surf' under your name may not be needed IMO, but will add Surf Shop if you like. Will check back in the morning..... ...
