Like the font and colors a lot. Two things I'm concerned about are

1. if I use this on a business card or letterhead that is a white image how does the blue work (i.e. doesn't the
logo need to be on a white background)

2. The logo doesn't convey beach/vacation with the flame.

Well, You can either use the entire picture to fill the business card, and even put it on a letterhead as a square and that would be perfectly acceptable. Or are you are looking for a transparent background, which means you could put your logo on any background? Because that can also be done. And I will definitely be making some alterations to fit your needs.
