Just a heads up: I have to leave town for the weekend for a family emergency (with no computer access). I would like to submit some new ideas for you, but may not have time before your contest ends. If I get back in time, I will surely submit some more though. Your contest is at the top of my priority list.
Here are some new ideas for your review. Let me know if any of them catch your eye more than others, and I will be happy to pursue it further. Thanks for looking.
(#19 & #20 are very typical Subway colors and branding) (#21 & #22 incorporate the New Zealand flag, just for a little different solution to the problem)
Depending on my workload this evening, I am hoping to finalize some wordmark ideas for you as well. It would be nice to get a simple wordmark that could accompany the shield, or stand on its own as an alternate option.
Here are some wordmarks for your review, Stan. As I mentioned, any of these could stand alone as an alternate to the main shield logo...it would all depend on if you decide you want a shield or a wordmark. Or I would be happy to show you a layout with both included.
Like the idea of the alternate to the main logo - it may sit nicely over the top of a photo image of Queenstown mountains, lake, bungy, etc (#30).
I like the star in "town" - that's a keeper (#32). If we keep the three-star-across-the-top design, it makes four - which is what we have on our flag (the Southern Cross formation).
The white shape can't have the sharp angles as the company logo can't be altered in anyway - so this needs to be oblonged / sandwich shape to correctly take the logo if placed in this position.
Is it possible to add a fabric effect to the flag background? - it will make it look more like the flag.
I added another version of the 1st place design, using the Subway colors, just in case you wanted to see it as well. Let me know if there is anything else you want me to try and touch up for you, and I will be happy to provide.
