I used the 'S' and 'L' to form a man that is leaning on the 'G'. this is to represent the fact that you work with the people both near and far. I used a color background with a swish in there to make it look more than just a block. Feedback if you would please.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
Dave
PS - I will submit this in Greyscale as well, so that you know what it would look like off the printer and also when faxed to other recipients.
Thank you very much! Your idea is really BRILLIANT but, I have to say, I saw it (the man leaning on G) only after I read your explanation. When I saw it, I was really delighted, but until then I though there was an "i" or some pharmacy symbol (in Italy, contrary to most other counbtries, the caduceus is used more often than the Bowl of Hygeia, see http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/57/Caduceus.svg to get what I mean). Is it only me? I don't know. Anyway, your entry has surely a great starting point.
Here are 4 newer versions for you to look at. I changed the shape for the circle so it doesn't resemble the cadeseus so much (I can see where you are coming from with that analysis). I understand that you only seen it when I had explained that it was a guy leaning on the 'G', I made it subtle for a reason, and here it is.
A logo should be appealing to the eye (usually simple shapes) and flow well. It should draw the attention of the viewer (which I believe I have captured with the colors and simplicity). Now here is the tricky part... It should be memorable!!
Okay three letters together is not memorable, but when you can make them look like something to one person and not the other then you get the passerby pointing out a person to somebody else and so on and so on. Then one day somebody else notices that it's leaning on the 'G'. Now you have x amount of people talking about your logo (which is usually how it all starts with international branding). I want people to talk about my design, your logo, for years to come, not just look up and say' "Oh that looks nice" and then never spaek of it again. Does that make sense to you?
I understand that many business owners want immediate noticeability (that is great and change will do that - which any new logo will do), but most forget about 5 years down the road or further (I want people to still talk about your logo). Well with all that being said, I hope you understand where I am coming from. And hopefully that helps you in choosing your final design.
No problem, I usually do not withdrawal any designs until the contest is completely over with. I read your note to everybody on the main comment page and I agree. If this was my contest though I would narrow it down even further to top ten or twenty. Then after you have picked your number one then if you'd like to. Rank most or all of the remaining entries.
If somebody takes offense to you removing some designs then they should not be on this site. We all understand that it is a contest and that there can only be one winner. Also, you had mentioned that your partner was out of town, if you need more time in the contest for newer entries to be submitted you can extend the contest, if you like a design but it needs tweaking, put them in first place (they are the only one who can submit newer versions while in judging phase). Or if your partner is out longer than what you think then you just contact the Administration of this site and they can extend the judging phase of the contest for a week or two for you as well.
