i chose to go with 'outdoor' ground and sky based colours with grey as a support so it doesnt get too overwhelming. i used a round shape for the image because i feel this makes it a lot more friendly.
im pretty confident my text meets the criteria you set in the general comments area but let me know if you want any changes (maybe the tagline is a bit small?)

looks pretty nice i think, i didnt put any textures on the rocks because it was far too detailed, just some shiny effects and shadows to give them depth.

Hi sorry...trying to get around to everyone. #30 through #34 aren't the stable, refined, clean look we're after. #36 and #37 look like stones, and we're not interested in anything that looks like stones or brooks. Your font is nice, however the colors are a little too feminine. Also, I think the logo needs to be smaller in proportion to the type. Thanks!

more manly colours and a cleaner, symmetrical logo. the text has also been made larger and as a result is more the main focus.
i can easily make this look a bit more sophisticated, 3d, fancier etc if you wish.

It sort of says, "big factory on a hill..." Not quite the direction we're going in. We'd like something warm and inviting. Keep trying!!

Thanks for the new entry! I get where you're going - but in the current configuration it looks to me like a house exploding... Maybe try a few revisions and see if we can get the "house being built" look?

hahaha yea exploding houses probably isnt the best message to be giving off for a construction company. ill see what i can do.

still trying to figure out how to make it look like its not exploding or being hit my meteorites. meanwhile what do you think of this one? clean, simple and its not something people will forget

Thanks for the revisions. I don't think we're capturing the concept... Also, I don't think the "two house" idea will work.

ok so, havent given up yet =)
new concept, its a simple two point perspective featuring a building (could be a house or something more commercial) i think the 2point perspec style is cool and fits very well with the sort of work your do. i also changed the colours to something a bit 'warmer'.
