Discussion

entry #5 is awesome, thank you for your efforts. please see some of the discussion comments to better dial this in. i think the black background is what is really throwing me off on this, but all the elements that you have incorporated into this are solid very well done. please keep the brand name: "Wisco Disco" in focus as stated in some of the discussion comments

thanks!!

Hi stillmankbrewer, so to be clear. The Stillmank logo stays the same as original but it needs to be applied to a style from the brand called Wisco Disco. In terms of hierarchy, the first ranked logo #9 with the girl is correct in terms of the communication.

Hello, can you tell us the concept behind the name Wisco Disco? Does it have a meaning or can we bring or own meaning to it.

thanks

the concept to the name is first and foremost a reference to Wisconsin and good times, not at all the disco type scene, however as it rhymes, it tends to be catchy and therefore easy to remember, as a name.

yes, logo #9, that incorporates both the brand name Wisco Disco and the Company Name, Stillmank Beer Company, is the type of image i am looking for.

the female image is a good extra touch and should be more of a cute, girl next door type of look. the kinda girl you would want to hang out with, and put a few back. the thought here is that while most of my actual consumers are male ages 21-35. most of the actual purchases at store level, is made by women. (so attractive for the guys, but not offensive to women)

please let me know if there are any other questions!

thanks

Hello stillmankbrewer, Just thought that I would finish my thoughts on the first design. It made me smile.

I'm not that great at illustrating the girl the way I think it should be but I will try to do whats in my head which is much simpler than the proposed detailed illustrations posted.

Hello again, You uploaded the labels but I cant find a full product picture. Is it only on a can or do you have bottles as well?

nice work!

yes it is only on a 16 ounce can. I don not have a product shot yet, can the cans are currently being manufactured.

any chance we can get the glass of beer to look more like beer, and not so much like milk?

thanks

Hello stillmankbrewer, I am a little confused. #5 which is currently 3rd, I thought the communication on this was off, it doesn't mention Wisco Disco at all. Are you just keeping options open? Should I do another revise of this without the co farm.

just curious

good point,

yes, I thought I would keep my options open a bit, and I in general just really like the image, however, like I mentioned before, the black background is throwing it off a bit.

what you have done with #25 is really pulling together all of the concepts I am after, and has a good look to it as well

the signature "Stillmank" has a small line under it that says " Beer Company, Green Bay" , in most of these images it is really small and is hard to make out. When it is a finished product, will this be clear or should it be removed?

in the craft beer business, being a local brand is a huge advantage, and wouldn't want to miss, calling it out that we are a beer company in Green Bay

thanks

Yes that line "Beer Company, Green Bay" is really small. So I have a couple of questions regarding it. Can I pull that line out and use it in a different way or rework it somehow? What are the rules regarding it.

yes re-work it if need be

Dasx,

please see two new images that I have uploaded. these are images of a mash paddle. this is a widely used tool for brewers and symbol for brewing beer. i really like both the logos # 25 and 35. My though for the use of this image would be for # 35, to possible replace the oval that it appears the brewer is holding. I am not sure if this will work, and am not asking for any drastic changes be made as both these images are really solid as they stand right now.

the other thought I have is that you have now set the Brand name in a place where it could be changed as we introduce new brands, without making any other changes to the logo, this could be very versatile and a big advantage in keeping our image the same while branding new beers from our company. my question is, how easy will it be to interchange brand names (and possibly change color schemes with new brands?) with this logo?

i hope my comments (or ramblings) have been clear, if not and you need to clarify please ask,

thanks again for your work, it is really good,

Its all very clear :) no ramblings. The mash paddle is an excellent idea and I think they work nicely. I will also try one with some stalks of the malt over the farmer's shoulder.

the space for the beer name is convenient and can be extended or contracted very easily left and right to accommodate the length of the name. You can use different fonts as well to provide variety and the colors can be switched around and still stay within the family brand. I will show an option for that in one of my posts.

I will work on this today.

That would be "barley stalks" :)

I have posted some updates. #38 and #39 has some additions with the mash paddle and barley. Th difference is beer name font shows that you can change the name (I didn't want to make one up :).

#40 and #41 show that you can play around with the colors and still stay within the band colors. This can be done for #38 design as well.

The position of the Stillmank logo becomes a standard placement for consistency.

I really like how #38 is coming along. Its got that local brewmaster feel. There can still be many tweaks. I want to experiment a bit with the font around the edges and some different barley that maybe bend a little more.

Let me know what you think.

yes I agree, they are both getting better and better. Please remember " Green Bay" is two words. also rather than using the little dot to separate Brewing Company, and Green Bay, try using the little image of the state as I have in one of my original logos, I think it adds character, but I will take your direction.

the mash paddle, and barely are good additions, but look a lot like arrows and a quiver in most of the new additions.

I do like the new hair thing in the girl. I have been thinking for a while she needed a little extra touch to bring her to life a bit (but not to much, the silhouette idea was good and subtle)

looking good, thanks!

Hello, I updated the barely but I kept the dash in type because the state gets reduced to just a dot really. Going to give it a rest till tomorrow. It can be better so I will continue to work through the details.

thanks Dasx,

i think we finally have it. kinda seems like less is more sometimes. I want to make my final comments and then I think we can wind this up. ON # 47 please drop the legs on the guy. it is just to much and a cleaner look with out them. I am also not sure about the grain on his back still. i will take your advice on that.

on # 46 I also think is done. again with the grain in her hair, I just can't fall in love with. for some reason it looks like feathers and an Indian look. i think it may be better just without it.

how does it work in this contest to have access to both images (is that possible)?

again, I am really please with the effort and images you have come up with,

thank you!

Hi,

1. Agreed, will drop the legs.
2. The Grain on #47 has been a struggle to get right. I think that they are good on #46. On #47 perhaps they should less and be a bit more left of him instead of looking like they're growing out of his back. I will try it.

Access to both. It maybe just a matter of me selling you the second one off site. Not sure how it works either. You can contact admin and see what they say but the label is mine and I can sell it If I choose. I will contact them as well after the end.

As it stands right now I haven't won anything yet officially so I want to finish the task at hand.

Let me make the adjustments on #47 and post it up.

Hello stillmankbrewer,

Thanks!
I have uploaded the label with layers for easy access to make changes. The pms colors are all in place and I put it on a green background which can easily be removed by simply hiding that layer. Let me know if you have any tweaks you want to make.

Are you still interested in the girl label? My contact info is in the file, you can reach me anytime.

thanks again
