A zone in the middle with steps/footprints - Indicating a longer rug, like office/corridor. Also indicating several smaller door mats/entrance well. Could also be perceived as a 'zebra crossing'.
Made with a soft grey (notice that two mats are grey) and environmental green in soft gradients.

Hope you like it. (I saw this competition quite late 'men hoppas att det ändå kan vara ett intressant bidrag.)

Hi, thanks for joining!

Interesting idea, we like the zone thinking, exactly how we actually organize the various type of mats. It is definitely an "intressant bidrag". :-)

The font is a bit bulky though, would prefer something slightly lighter. If you have time, it's indeed the last minute here...

Glad you liked it. Here's a lighter font as requested

Ok I know this font is a bit thicker than you would like, but since it is just an outline and no filled letters maybe it'll work?

Gradient on outline following the font gradient green to grey. Personally I think this looks a bit messy... :-)

Glad to see that you obviously appreciated the contribution. Please feel free to ask for any alterations.

Made the logo a bit tighter by reducing the distance between the steps a few pixels. Thereby the font becomes a little tighter as well.

Increased font size with 9 pixels to make it slightly bolder. (About half the size of a 'carpet' rectangle)
The font distance from the 'zone' is the same as the distance between the 'carpets' in the 'zone'.

The only visual thing that bugs me a little is the 'P' in step; the space on the end... maybe its just my sensitive eye for balance... ;-)

This screen copy became a little bit greener since I saved it with PNG-8 (8bits colour info) instead of 24 bit, thus less gradients. Just thought you should know...
