**** UPDATED *****
*** I will be a little more specific to help. I attached an example that I like that I would like the logo to look similar. If you look at the example. The background can be solid black for the demo (transparent in the final version). Instead of orange for the main color, it can be a medium grey color. Where Northshore is at in the middle, would be the text: St. Tammany in white similar to what you see there. Where "Louisiana" is in black on top would be changed to: Local Real Estate Marketplace in white. On the bottom where it says "St Tammany Parish" would be changed to "BUY SELL.COM " in white text.
As far as the design that is behind where "St Tammany" would go ( in example where Northshore is currently) I would like to keep the same general look and feel except remove the spoon/fork, fish and guitar. If you could alter the shape a little, take a look at the attached photo showing the blue color state with the yellow area. Try to make the background shape the same shape as best you can of that yellow area. That is the area that my website will be representing.
I also attached a couple example pictures of a pavilion, pier, oak tree, light house etc... not required, but if you can add some of that into the right side of the design (look the original example had the fork/spoon, guitar and fish that would be nice to see. Or you can try to work in the outline of a house on the right side.
I hope this helps. *********
Most likely incorporating a house into the logo or a symbol to distinguish that it is real estate related. No mountains or buildings, the area is not in a downtown area. Some idea, the area is on a really big lake and has a lake front with marina, marsh and wildlife, state parks, etc... Here is some info on the area:
http://www.louisiananorthshore.com/things-to-do/outdoors/ We also have the largest bridge in the world ( Lake Pontchartrain causeway bridge)
