So as designers, we're only able to upload the winning file to the website for you to approve and download. The easiest way forward is probably to finalise the winning logo here on website, I'll upload it, if you're happy, you can approve it (this finishes the project on the website) and then we can work directly via email to finalise this secondary logo. I can send a PDF for you to check, and then again, once happy, I can send the secondary logo files directly via email. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #132 Withdrawn I like this. So, at this point, we're about to declare your design(s) the winner. We want both designs (portrait and landscape), but will want to add a couple of items to the portrait one to have the image for printing on a sign. Is this what we'll finish up on during the next step, if I declare a winner now? I'm new to this. 8 months ago Angus commented on #133 Withdrawn Gotcha! 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #133 Withdrawn I agree with you regarding the visual balance, but I think the larger "Orthodox Church" makes it more suitable for the sign where this layout is intended. 8 months ago Angus commented on #133 Withdrawn And a version of #132, but for balance, making the Orthodox Church slightly smaller. I think this visually sits better than #132. 8 months ago Angus commented on #132 Withdrawn Just showing this version in portrait format. 8 months ago Angus commented on #127 That's no problem at all, I can create both versions for you. I can work something up and upload it now for you. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #127 I think we'd want both vertical and horizontal versions in the case of this design. 8 months ago Angus commented on #127 With regards to the sign version - no problem at all, we can adjust the logo as per your comments, to make it fit nicely within the square shape. 8 months ago Angus commented on #127 Correct - the alignment between the wording and the icon is correct, and there is spacing between the two lines of copy. It's whether you'd prefer a tiny bit more, or leave as it currently is. Happy to add more so you can compare if needed. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #127 Our sign is square. We might want a horizontal version (for the website and printed materials) and a vertical version, with the oval/cross ABOVE the text, for use on the squarish sign. The sign is a monument-type, made out of brick, with a printed panel attached to it on either side. We would have a local signmaker produce the panels from your image. Once we've settled on the logo direction, we'll adjust the prize to reflect some additional moving around to create the sign image we need to provide. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #127 Does this include the spacing adjustments (fixes) from #126, but using this font selection? 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #126 Withdrawn We prefer #127 of your designs. 8 months ago Angus commented on #127 No problem at all, hope it made sense and helped. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #127 Thank you for the explanation. 8 months ago Angus commented on #127 Correct - this uses standard colours within the CMYK spectrum. With printing you can either go standard which uses the CMYK colour scheme, and most printers around the world use this. Or you can go the Pantone route, which is special colours. Within CMYK all the colours are created within this; Cyan Magenta Yellow and Black. So a total of four colours. If we went Pantone then it would still be three colours; blue, black and grey, as each colour would be its own special colour. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #127 We like the blue and black. Does this use a basic color pallet that a printer could produce without doing custom colors? Our immediate usage is mostly our sign and website, but want to consider future needs that might require printing. 8 months ago Angus commented on #70 Withdrawn Yeah, they are great - classic, solid and work nicely! 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #70 Withdrawn I figured it was in the Garamond family. A personal favorite. 8 months ago Angus commented on #127 My pleasure! 8 months ago Angus commented on #70 Withdrawn No problem at all. With regards to the fonts, this one is Adobe Garamond Pro Bold for St Nektarios and then Semibold for Orthodox Church. Hope that helps. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #127 Thanks. 8 months ago Angus commented on #127 And here is a version of this one with "Orthodox Church" slightly more prominent. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #70 Withdrawn If we go this way, we will likely want to ask for a sign layout using it, with a bit extra added to the prize for that service. I'm just playing around a bit on my end with what I might ask. Can you tell me the name of the fonts used for the St Nektarios and Orthodox Church text? 8 months ago Angus commented on #70 Withdrawn No problem at all, will work that up now. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #70 Withdrawn Can "Orthodox Church" in this one be a bit more prominent, more like #62 ? 8 months ago Angus commented on #126 Withdrawn This is a version of #62, but with the alignment fixed and spacing added. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #69 Withdrawn Like #70 better. 8 months ago Angus commented on #70 Withdrawn And here is a version of #64 but using small caps. The fonts are similar but with subtle differences. For instance the S in this one I find nicer and fuller. This one has the horizontal stem in the K that the other doesn't. 8 months ago Angus commented on #69 Withdrawn And here is a version of #62 with your feedback applied. 8 months ago Angus commented on #62 Withdrawn No problem will work that up for you. And apologies the spacing has slipped on this one, will fix that. 8 months ago Angus commented on #64 Withdrawn Hi there. Mmm, my preference would be more for this one. The font used in #62 feels very classic, and only comes in caps and small caps (similar to your example). This one (#64) is a bit more flexible and has all cases. It also feels slightly softer around the edges of the letters. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #34 Withdrawn Prefer one of the others in this vein. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #61 Withdrawn Font strokes are too thin at points. Prefer the other mixed case example to this one. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #63 Withdrawn Prefer the other mixed caps one. 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #64 Withdrawn We are torn between this and #62 (using small caps). What are you designer thoughts as to the pros/cons of each? 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #62 Withdrawn Slightly greater space between the two lines of text. Slightly smaller on "Orthodox Church" and stronger somehow on "St Nektarios". Is the text centered vertically on the cross/circle? It feels slightly off. 8 months ago Angus commented on #34 Withdrawn Hi again, Just following on from earlier - I've uploaded a few examples, do let me know if any of those jump out. Cheers Angus 8 months ago Angus commented on #34 Withdrawn Hi there, hope you’re well and having a good weekend! Thanks for the feedback and ranking, and no problem at all would be my pleasure to work up some font options. Would you like to stick with classic serif fonts (like this one but less girly), or sans serif modern fonts? Cheers Angus 8 months ago dbiberdorf commented on #34 Withdrawn We like the simplicity of this design, but the font choice (at least for "St Nektarios" seems too "girly" for some. Anything else that works well with this approach? 8 months ago Angus commented on #35 Withdrawn Hi there, Welcome to Logotournament - I hope this finds you well and having a good week so far. Here are some of my concepts. They are simple, yet striking and unique! The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed. It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts. Regards, Angus 8 months ago
