Hi Akerman, thanks for your submissions. I think I like #60 the most, but it's perhaps still a bit too much Marvel comics and not enough iconic style. I haven't really got any other suggestions, except for my latest additions to the brief.
Keeping it simple by not involving any graphical element that can refer to Russia, space or other... Just the font and a wide logo that is easy to handle and easy to animate/play with.
Hi Akerman The newest submissions are a bit Star Trek - we're intentionally trying to avoid anything space/Sci Fi. It'd be good to see something that has it's own theme, perhaps things like
Well aware that you're looking for a more iconic symbol, I still want to present you with a "space theme". Why? Simply because that word "Sputnik" is so strongly related to the space age... "New Frontiers" That's what the design work is about.
A couple of thoughts: Always been a bit curious about the reason why a design firm does not create their own logo. I understand that a fresh perspective is always interesting and maybe a couple of hundred dollars are the ticket to inspiration ;-) ?
Ever thought about just to use the name? I mean NO icon/symbol. This is what most/many cloth brands do. And they do it simply because they need to follow trends. In that sense it is easier to have a simple word logo and let the overall design style communicate changes in trend/fashion and the company "language".
The problem with briefing 'space' is that so much of the inspiration comes from 80's Sci Fi, and we don't write games for the Amiga :-)
You're absolutely right about why we are outsourcing our own logo. We've been looking at it for so long, we're blinded by it. From a pride perspective, we feel like cheats, but we are not ashamed to put pragmatism ahead of pride, for either us or our clients.
No icon could be acceptable if we an get it right.
Regarding your latest submissions - I'm pretty sure we want to avoid red/black. Once you roll the palette our, it all becomes too dark (and Sci Fi again).
