If you have reference for the space it would be a great help. Not sure how far is too far. You can also leave individual feedback for the designers by clicking on the designs.
I noticed that the contest has been inactive for some time. Are we way off track. Do we need more of the human element or more organic natural elements?
Without your participation we are mostly just guessing.
Also, like #70 or #46 or #54 or #73, could we see something with a globe in the circle, maybe with the spotlight shining on North carolina. Or with a design like #11, we could maybe put a social justice looking globe inside the coffee cup. basically, if we can incorporate a globe but still put an emphasis on UNC in some way, I'd be really interested in that.
It seems that there are many things this logo has to say. Now the emphasis to UNC. This is a lot to communicate. I would try to narrow it down to a simple message, something that can be stated is a single short statement. Something meaningful to the people that will see it the most.
Hi again. If you have specific UNC identity that you would like used please upload them. I would imagine that there are guidelines as to what you can and cannot do with the University branding elements. It would be good to know that as well.
Hi dasx, thanks for the time and energy you've put into our logo. Your right, we do not want the logo to be too busy. In order to incorporate the university, let's use a blue that more closely resembles a "Carolina blue". See example here http://www.fanpop.com/spots/blue/images/123037/title/carolina-blue-photo. For #45 could you make it more organic/natural by fading the spotlight into the background slowly. While #45 is my preference within your current submissions, I find myself looking for a visual anchor in the design like in #54. Can you create a border of some sort? I'm thinking dark brown ripped edges, with particular accentuation on the right bottom to draw attention to the name.
