okay, it's a bit different from the rest. i still use the architectural shape to represent the spire, but i made it more creative, dividing them into different sections. i think it makes the logo less "banky". sections also represents "the other competitor" so the section with the spire stands out, so it fits. spire = stands out from the others. it's simple but not plain ;) so okay let me know what you think. thanks

Wolv, I like these. they are definitely in the running - turning my top 3 into a top 4, and making my decision even harder. :)

Could you do a variation of #397 with the "web 2.0" styling you apply to a lot of your designs? In other words some shiny texture, 3D depth, etc. Whatever you think might look good. It's important to see what you already sent for printing, embroidering, etc, but since I'll use it on the web a lot, I'll have plenty of flexibility with color spectrum, subtle gradients, etc.

I'd also like to see one that uses the blue and gold colors more prominently (though not necessarily exclusively). That may be the one branding element from my old logo that I keep, though I haven't decided for certain. It may be working some gold into the #396 design.

Finally, do you think the icon left of the words is the best way to balance everything? I probably pushed designers in that direction with my rankings, but if you want to experiment with other options, I'm game.

Bottom line, I like your design. Any variations or enhancements you can send along these lines would be great.

Thanks!

thanks for the feedback. so here are the updates. i'm experimenting with different shines, and shadow to show subtle depth (one like paper, cool with webdesign/advertising thing ;). also with some layout experiment. best layout? left is okay i guess, conservative. right is good too. the vertical layout can be useful for some application, ie: bus card depends on the design. you know, forgot to say, but i don't want to put the building icon in a "container" because it will be too "rigid". it's better to let the icon free. okay thanks ;)

These look really good! When going through all of yours again, I just noticed something. #398 has that line under the word Spire. However, looking at it again it almost made me think of a shadow being cast that formed the underline! What if you used that concept in a color textured version, making it a translucent somewhat soft-edged gray (but still strong enough to be noticed) like a shadow would be? It would be a shadow while also providing a unique way of tying the text in with the icon. Just a thought...

wolv, thanks for your last-minute submission to the contest, and the helpful feedback you gave me. I selected #165 as my winner, but it was a very tough contest to judge. You ended up third out of nearly 500 entries.

I will be sending my clients to logo tournament when they need designs, and I'll tell them to be sure to invite you to the contest. You do outstanding work.

Best of luck,

Jeremy
