Interesting start. I like that you are taking it in a different direction. I am kind of on the opinion that it should be centered around the "S" and have silhouettes of athletes around a spinning S. SPIN and/or Sports Idol Nation can go around the S or where ever...
Can you mirror image that logo to make it look more like an S? Then use silhouettes of say a gymnast, an american football player, and a greek roman foot with wings all very subtle?
Thanks but not really sure about the silhouettes with the current design it doesn't seem to fit in but I'll try something else on the next update tomorrow, its a bit late here in my timezone I'll make updates tomorrow thanks.
I like it better but I don't see the silhouettes. Seems like you could adjust the first white space in the top part of the S to be oval like an american football and add the american football laces. Then it appears you could have a gymnast doing a back handspring. FYI have you looked at the Logo I posted on the contest page? Basically the silhouette is nothing too specific. It could be even less specific than that just so we can see its a person with a head doing something athletic... I guess the theory would be to use your Color Curves with shadowed silhouettes and then your blank space or background space with outlines that make other things related to sports like the Nike football link I posted on the contest page. I can see it being a great design I just can't draw it...
Keep evolving the idea. I like how the football laces look, but I don't love the way the guy looks. Make that a female gymnast and more arch in her back. Then add a few more silhouettes but make them less noticable than they are on this one. Use sports equipment, or players I don't care as long as it looks good. Also think sports celebrity.
If you have some other ideas I'm open still with 4 hours left. I think your idea has some promise but I would like to see more athletes in the white even if they have to be smaller and more subtle. Also send a few different colors using red white and blue, black and blue, green & orange, Green and whatever else, thanks!
