we don't want to lose our identity in the refresh!

Our Ideas and Additional Information:

We are actually wanting a logo 'refresh' - as our current logo its begining to look dated (we moved to it early 90's). We don't want to move too far from what we have, losing our history and awareness, so somthing that brings us up to date. Will consider losing the rainbow....

Thanks for your enteries and work.

I think I have possibly not made the brief clear enough as those submitted thus far are too big a leap away from our current logo, which we are just looking to refresh. I am thinking a small incremental evolvement, quite subtle I am hoping, that brings it up to date and contemporary. We have 28 years worth of branding invested in our current logo so can't walk away from that awareness and recognition. People still need to see it is the same brand, but brought up to date. I'm thinking the way the Shell logo evolved is a good example - a series of little tweaks to keep it modern.

The background colours are also on a file under the logos or at this link:

Hope that helps.

Thanks for this. I can appreciate your point of view, perhaps we are asking the impossible?
However I believe it can be done, and hopefully more designs will come along closer to the brief - lets see. If not I'll have to rethink!
All enteries are being viewed by our managers who are all stakeholders in the business, so I have quite a few differing perspectives and opinions to manage. We think it would be a huge mistake to stray too far from the current design, so maybe its a question of being convinced that by having a 80's cheesy logo, this is more damaging than the loss of identity, recognition and branding by a completely new redesign. All imput welcome....

Was the "Uk ltd" something you wanted addressed on the design, if so small or large presence.

Thanks for your question. No we don't want UK Ltd as part of the logo. I am sorry if this was not made clear.

Thanks for all our enteries thus far - it has helped clarify our thinking and we feel it has to be a logo that sits on a white background.

I have just read a post on the Contest Holders Forum about ranking, indicating that points are scored for all rankings, as such, I will rank all enteries rather than saying uninterested from now on, as I believe that at leasts gives designers a point for putting in a design. I apologies to those designers I have already moved to the uninterested section. In any event - uninterested is not quite the right word, some of them are very interesting and great logo.s, just not the way we can go....

Thanks, Davenjon, God bless U ! other CHs just think we are working for nuts and are very niggardly ...not only about ranking, but even about feedback , so we don't know what they really are looking for< and when some1 doesn't know what he seeks, ususally gets something else :) Good luck to all, and as Nike slogan says: U don't win silver, U loose gold !

We are liking the red...still taking feedback from our stakeholders, and this affects ranking a bit irratically as I juggle things, it must be a nightmare for the designers to see their work shifted around so much, and I do apologise
. I also wouldn't worry too much once you get past say 15 in terms of actual ranking - we are just moving designs down the list but with not alot of thought if it should go at No 21 or 21 or 23 if you get my drift, rather than move them into the not interested box, where you don't get a 'shortlisted' point for your effort.
