Color Preferences
We currently utilize Black and Gold but are going through a corporate rebranding in the new year so are open to anything. Colors to avoid are RED, Bright YELLOW. Typically we dont want to use bright gaudy colors as the primary colors.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
www.lpl.com/sovereign is the current logo. Logo ideas include using a lion "passant' carrying a flag with either an "S" or a crown on he flag. The lion should be very modern looking, not like the old time heraldry lions you'll see when researching.

This slogan popped into my mind:
Building wealth for this generation and the next.

Best of luck with the contest! This one should be great with the large prize.

Drew could you please withdraw #1 and #2 and reupload them. It looks like something went wrong with the export.

Cheers,

Wow. Nice start everyone. Willie, your 4-6 are very close to designs I came up with myself ( I know enough about Illustrator to get very frustrated ), right down to making the torch look like an "S". Also, I must cay the colors you used work very well. The group who will make the call on this definitly favors rich, deeper shades vs. "paler shades" if that makes since. Less white graidient might be better description. #7-9 and #12 are to high shcool mascot like. Drew # 3 - I also like the colors you picked. Blue/Grey combo is interesting. Dont like the font though and that style lion/shield cant be used as it is to similer to other companies. #16, regulations forbid us from having anything that looks like $ in our logo and the gold goin w/ the "S" wouldn't be approved #17-18 We'd like to see something wiithout the letter "S" as the the core of the logo. The thinking is that names can change and as this logo will be used extensively in marketing campaigns, if for some reason the name did change, the logo could stay. Lutfi, all you entires are differnt and original. I hope to see more wish there was a way to copy and paste some examples of some ideas we had. If you want to supply me with an email, I'd be happy to forward a couple. Unfortuneately, Im clueless about posting stuff on the web.

Sorry to ramble. Keep it going!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As it stands now, i'm not to fond of any of the lion symolsas all look like school mascots. I should note here that we're open to anything if it truly is origenal and inspiring. I've spent alot of time going through vector images and some of those lions look like they were plucked right out of one. i dont know if i could rank them right now as adjustmants need to be made.

I would keep in mind that we need a symbol that we can place by itself ( without the company name next to it) and be identified with the firm.

Excuse me V, with all do respect...really, that logo was designed in illustrator CS3 from scratch. Not sure how you came to the conclusion about pixels. It's all vector.

Hey Drew, it looks like V was wrong twice, but your logo does look rough somehow. Perhaps you have to tweak the lion design to hold up in smaller sizes? The shield is also not so smooth looking.

Ok, well first off, V, i'm sorry but you have mistaken greatly. I did not pull this picture of the internet. And the file I would give the contest holder would prove that. Also, how in the world can you tell that my picture has pixels in it? Granted, I did make it a PNG so that I could put it on here. So did everyone else on here. That's what we're supposed to do. But the original is EPS. Please check your source before the false accusing begins.

To all,

Wow, I'm blind. Thats why I married that woman. lol. As you may have noticed, I have been ranking sporadically and have been more interested in the concepts vs. the quality of illustration. I done this with the assumption that they will be cleaned up as the contest draws to a close. It's that time now.

So. go back and brush up your entries. I've sent some pics to a few of you , anyone else wanting to see them, please tell me now. But you can get a good idea of what I'm looking for by the rankings. ( If you submit a shield, it needs to look like a shield (gradients, mesh, etc. ). I will not pick any logo that can't be immediately downloaded for printing. I'll be checking often today so post if you have any questions.

One more thing. We can not use the color RED as a primary color in our logo. A deep maroon as an accent maybe but a bright red is out of the question.

Also, many have used the typical "Helardry Lion" in their workups. I specifically addressed that in the original description. Those who used the lion rampant pose have little luck here. I suggest using something a bit more moderen. Also, no lion logos that look like a picture of a lion.

CH #159 & #158 have both seemed to use the same original source (maybe clipart) for the lions, the only thing that differs is the mouth & crown. Just thought i'd point this out incase originality matters to you as they may both need to verify their source as it would be too much of a coincidence that they both drew them from scratch concepts.

Even so Speedlogo, i would assume the CH meant them to be used as inspiration, not blatently copied, I'm sure that image has a copyright somewhere. Who's going to pay the fines for infringement? You?

V, what famous logo would that be? Yes, that lion is one I thought would work well and was to be used anyway the designer saw fit. I would have like to put up some examples for the designers but , at present, not a way to do it on this site (I know, I could post it somewhere on the web but time is tight right now) The designers that used it are working more from the discussions that they had with me and I am, as they are, aware of there similarites. It was not brought in by the designers but me so if it is similer to some famous logo I don't know of, then its entirely my fault.

Am I missing something? You have never heard of illustrator? I'm not sure if I should be taking any more time investing in this contest if i'm going to get reamed out for no particular reason!

Drew, I'm sorry for seeing this so late but who "reamed" you out? Also, I really don't understand the confusion Santino. What exactly are your issues so that I may address them?

I'm sorry for the delay. We believe thatsome of your submissions might not be visible to us (Sovereign) and believe it to be unfair to make a decision until we know that we have everyone's entries.

Please be patient
