Lotus, this is really beautiful. Thank you.
I like the overall feel of 26 - nice that you've put the white light inside the circle as well as up above.
The human figure seems a little too delicate. And the "tails" or "ribbons" could change: my intent is for the figure to be also GROUNDED. How can you redesign the bottom of the image to introduce a GROUNDING or EARTHLY element?

Tzina,
Thank you for your revisions.
Some thoughts:
--can I see the figure more firmly planted on the mountaintop? He/She seems like he's standing at a tilt, but firmly grounded would be better.
--He/She seems small in comparison with the wings.
--Font size: can the S in soaring and the A in angels be large caps, with the other letters small caps?
--as a juxtaposition, what if the wings were more solid in form, while He/She was more luminescent in form?

Hi Tzina,
I would like to try a few modifications:
--can you draw the wings as a mosaic, will multiple colors that evoke a gem-like appearance?
--can you draw the human figure as more of an abstract figure? Use the imagery of a funnel cloud (like a tornado) to depict his/her form - and have the top of the funnel cloud extend to the heavens
--this way the wings will be "grounded" in their gemlike appearance and the figure will be angelic in his spirit-like appearance.
Thank you,
S

dear contest holder
here are some updated entries #63 #64
with multiple colors on the wings.
could you pleas explainto me the : " the imagery of a funnel cloud (like a tornado) to depict his/her form - and have the top of the funnel cloud extend to the heavens"
have you got an image as an example?
thank you in advance

Tzina,
I think you have interpreted my wishes very well with #63.
What i meant by "the imagery of a funnel cloud (tornado) to depict the form" is to create the outline of the human form by drawing a series of spirals that are rooted in the earth and extend to the heavens. The series of spirals will look like a spring (a coil). But instead of being purely cylindrical, they will curve on the exterior to assume the shape of a human figure.
I hope this is clear, since I do not have a picture to send you.
Thank you,
S

YES! THAT IS CORRECT! BRAVO!
Now, can you still modify the shape of the human form so he/she has hips and legs?
And can you add some additional color to the wings? Have some of the feathers "painted" in vibrant colors...
This is beautiful!

#73, #74, #75, #76
These are fantastic! Each is unique - and beautiful.

#76
I like the human form - colors, swirls (tornado)
I like the light above the human form extending upward
I like the transparent arcs of light surrounding the human form

#74
I like the shape of the wings and the placement of the arms within the top of the wings

Suggestions:
--can you use brighter colors for coloring the wings? Try to identify gem-like brilliant colors, if you can.
--can you play with the head of the human form so it look a bit more ethereal? Closer to the swirling theme you have used for the body in #76?

Thank you. Your work is beautiful.

Dear Tzina,
Thank you. #91, #92 & #93 are nicely done.
Now - I would like to ask you your professional opinion:
--Are these latest designs too "busy"?
--Note that I will be using this not only for a book cover, but also for my logo moving forward - to be used on workshop materials, meditation CDs, etc. - Your thoughts?
--I believe you have understood the meaning behind my concept, any advice you have on the designs is most welcome.
Thank you,

#103 through #107
Hi Tzina,
These new ones are beautiful thank you.
#104 - My thoughts include:
---Font change - I have left this until now since this will not be challenging to get "right".
---Color change from orange to gold (on font and mountain)
---Since the gem-colored wings do not seem to be working out for this design, perhaps we should make the wings more subtle as if they are almost an energetic emanation - this could be done simply by fading them into the background a bit... (like the arcs you created in #76)
---Do you see where the deep (dark) blue at the bottom of the image creates a subtle pyramid shape? Well, it might be nice to have a similar inverted pyramid created from the heavenly light. One difference: the focal point would move from the head of the human figure to the heart of the human figure.
---Instead of framing the central image in the rainbow arc, I prefer the white arcs you drew in #76. I wonder if these could be thinly lined in gold - so that the energy resembles the energy of the sun...
I appreciate your willingness to work with me on my design ideas. Thank you.

Hello Tzina,
I have just gone over these designs with a friend who is now assisting me with the final workings. We have some new notes, starting with design #118:
1. Please remove the wings (for the moment)
2. Please change the background to a light, colorful, joyful picture - like author Wayne Dyer's book cover for POWER OF INTENTION
3. Please change the font to reflect a flowing essence
As I have indicated before, we are using this initially for a book cover, but certain key elements of this design will also be used for our website design and logos for other related items/activities. Once we receive the final design, what program will we need to work with it? In Design? Illustrator? I would also like you to assist in designing other things for me based on this core design: website banner, bookmarks, business cards, etc. May I contact you after this contest to discuss?
Thank you,

Hello Tzina,
Thank you for accommodating our latest thoughts.
After reviewing these, I have come to some final conclusions:

Overall, #118 is my favorite. However, I wish to blend this with design elements from #129.
--Let's remove the gold lines that create the circular form around his body.
--Let's include the three expanding circles of light that emanate from his heart center (see #128, #129).
--Let's treat the wings as energy - and let the energy not have finite edges, instead let it fade beyond the form of the wings (I hope I am clear).
--I like the pyramid-base you created in #119, but I also like the blue background in #118. Can you introduce the pyramid-base to #118? Keep the capstone gilded in thick gold, but extend a thin line of gold to create the pyramid's outline. Perhaps somewhere inside this pyramid can be the original orange color-scheme that my original designs had been based on (see the Profile).
--The font for "Soaring with Angels" is still not quite right. Please look at a font called Scriptina (addictivefonts.com/fancy/free-formal-script-fonts). This has the characteristics I am seeking.

Thank you,

Oh my lord!
Your latest (135 to 137) are fantastic!
So, please give me a few hours to consider these before you proceed.

Thank you for introducing these vibrant colors! This is now beginning to feel very right!

In the meantime, please look at the font I noted. Some letters are too flowing, but at least you get the right idea.

Thank you!

Client
Dear Tzina,
You have created a beautiful design with #135.
I would like to request the following changes:
--Let's remove the thin yellow/gold lines that create the circular form around his body.
--Let's make the bottom of the design a deeper, brighter green.
--The spiral of light around the human figure is perfect! There should only be one light focus (on the heart area); please remove the others. Where the light is shown over the heart, please make it a bright light at the center with a halo effect expanding outward (not lines coming out as it is presently drawn).
--The mountain on which the human figure is standing should be one peak only (one mountain only). If you wish to make the mountain a little more detailed it would be nice.
--The font for "Soaring with Angels" is still not quite right. Please look at a font called Scriptina (addictivefonts.com/fancy/free-formal-script-fonts). This has the characteristics I am seeking - but less flowing with the bottom of the letters that descend beneath the writing-line (I hope this is clear). Please keep the font of "WITH" the same as the font of "SOARING" and "ANGELS".
--Please use the font color and design from #118 ("SOARING WITH ANGELS") for "Discovering Your Divinity". I thought it was beautifully designed and quite unique. The gold accents are perfect.
--The lower half of the design has 2 pyramidal lights emanating from the heart - a wider one and a brighter, narrower one. Please remove the narrower one. The wider one is perfect and sufficient.
Thank you,

Hello Tzina,
The font is still not quite right. Please make it more upright (rather than italics). And although I wish it to be flowing, I also wish for it to embody strength.

#149
Hello Tzina,
Thank you, I have received the new designs.
#149 is brilliant!
--At the top where you have the white shading in 3 inverted-pyramidal shapes extending to the heavens... can you please remove the 2 outer ones and just retain the most central (brightest) inverted pyramid please?
--The font size for "Soaring" and "Angels" seems to be slightly different. Can you make them the same size? Please match the size you have established for "Soaring" in #149.
--Please write "With" as "with" instead of "With", small "w".
--Can the final "s" in "Angels" look more like a block "s" rather than a cursive "s"?
--I love the idea of the golden rock/mountain the figure is standing upon. How can we make it look like a real mountain, instead of a background for the font?
Thank you once again Tzina.

I hope you are doing well since the last time of our communication.
I have prepared for you updates in which I have use the butterfly shape in a sense of a banner which accomodates the title of your book. #153 #154 #155 #156
I was inspired by a phrase of your book "I can honor the efforts of the nestled caterpillar awakened to her evolution"
I hope you like them.

Dear Tzina,
I have been away from my computer for a few days - and am happy to see your latest updates.
The butterfly is certainly an intriguing design idea - thank you. However, I think I would like to stick with the mountain - it embodies the idea of the crystalline pyramid (which I have also written about in my book).
Following what you have done with design #155, I have a few thoughts:
--The human figure is well-proportioned, but the head seems a little simplistic. Can you improve the profile?
--I still like the "Soaring with Angels" font from #146. But it seems to slope downward towards the end of "Soaring". Can you modify the "a" and the "n" in "Soaring" so the bottom-end of the letter doesn't sweep so much? (The same for the "n" in "Angels".)
--Can you contain the font for "Soaring with Angels" within a golden mountain? Please make it look like a mountain while also metaphorically representing a pyramid. in #155, if the mountaintop were to be extended downward, it would encase the title font. I know we are going to use a different font, but let's try this. We may have to make the mountain a bit wider. Also, I like stacking the font for "Soaring with Angels", one word on top of the next (like #155), not offset like #146.
--When designing the mountain, please give it some subtle textural elements like you did with the rock in #149 - the shading there is beautiful.
--Please remove the white triangular shading that extends below the heart. It detracts from the beauty of the rest of the design.
--Also, please remove the white inverted triangular shading that extends above the heart into the heavens. I prefer the look you had created in #128. Can you try to incorporate this back into the design?
--The font for "Discovering Your Divinity" is perfect.
Thank you Tzina.

Dear Tzina,
One more thought...
--If the recreation of the light extending up into the heavens (from #128) does not come together with the new colors, you could also try extending the golden spiral (around the figure) up into the heavens.
Thank you,

Dear Tzina,
I think #160 is well done. Thank you.
The font still is not right, but I think this may simply be something that I will need to work on over time to find the right font-design.
The re-shaped head of the figure is perfect, as is the light emerging to the heavens.
The mountain that the figure stands upon doesn't appear quite right. Can you modify this to look like a crystal mountain (as if it is constructed of a clear, crystal) with a square based and a single peak at the top?
Everything else looks lovely.
Thank you.
