Many designers will enter to your contest if you rank 1, 2, 3 :) That way, your contest appear in the portfolio, where many designers look at the contest by seeing others designs. Sometimes someone look what is in first place and said: i can do it better! That way, you will receive more designs and most important, you can send a message by ranking what do you like best.
