Color Preferences
We are open to the artist opinion, keeping in mind, this will be a logo for a unisex multi generational demographic and should not lean heavily to a gender.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We are considering something that resembles a patch. Like a patch on Raggedy Ann or Andy. Something that is not too tight, meaning perhaps frayed edges, like a cloth that has not been hemmed. Also with the word "SLEVES" embroidered or stitched onto the patch style logo.

Discussion

#2 The stitching around the edges is good. We are still looking for a frayed edge, perhaps a frayed edge with the stitching. Something that looks tattered around the edges. I will submit a concept drawing in pencil in about an hour.

#1 Thank you for the entry. It seems you have studied and attempted to blend the common color of a sleeve with a neutral color. Perhaps WE in not recommending colors we have inadvertently put an emphasis on nothing bold or edgy at all. We are open to experiments. Perhaps teal and coco brown, Red and white, teal and red, green and brown...grey and florescent green or blue?... totally open too the experiment of colors. we understand that the feeling of the logo will come from design. we can manipulate the colors later if necessary. Perhaps the only color we wish to avoid is the fleshy color of the common compression sock. Anything else will be considered. In the example of #1 the stitch is cute, but we are going for something less refined. Unlike its clean edges all around the corners, we envision something less tight, perhaps with frayed edges. We do appreciate the study and hope our comments are useful.

#17 Excellent use of the edge we are looking for. This is in first place because of the additional stitching around the boarder of the "patch". I would like to see contrasting colors between the stitching and the blue patch, such as orange stitching in the place of the existing white. The font would be better centered like #16 and a bit smaller. also finish reading this comment whereas this comments will apply...

#15 Probably the best all around logo so far. I didn't expect to see this quality for another day or two. In our mind (at this moment) this is sharing first place not taking second. We like the stretch effect, the use of color, and the stitching.

#22 Excellent example of a contrasting stitch.

What all logos are lacking is a stitched style font... Not to be confused with a font lettering with stitched marks around it, but the stitch is actually the letter either single or double line. Hard to see in the example however it is what we are thinking. Because it will be harder to see the font because it will be stitch marks, a contrasting color will be necessary.

Another idea (different, but along the same line) would be to have a font lettering that looked like it was cut from cloth, with rough edges around the actual lettering. This would also be a way to make the "sleeves" stand out in a different color. If the font looked like it was cut from a cloth and the patch looks like it is also cut from a cloth, both with unique stitching around the edges (the font and patch), it may start to look like patchwork... not sure if that's a good thing yet, but we'd like to see it.

We have been inspired by the creativity of all.

#40 This is a good stitch font. We would like to see another font with a single or double line stitch. Also, try a baby blue with a coco brown stitch, perhaps try another larger brown (coco) patch behind the blue to define the edges a little better. Also with this logo we think we prefer it with no curvature, like your entry #39.

#29 and #37 Very cool, all caps looks nice, would be interesting to see if you could create a more realistic fabric feel to the art, this is where #17 really stays strong. Major points on the stylized side logos.

********** I have had a couple of private suggestions that a cleaner edge would be better and more memorable.... I appreciate the professional opinions of all, however, Its just not what we are after. We are purposefully going for a tattered, patchwork style design with a heavy stitch, the more entries we see the more resolved we are to guide the competition this way, which is why I am writing the post. After having lost a brother to cancer and having my sister in a current struggle, it feels very much like you are tattered and patching things together to make them work, thus the inspiration for the logo. We have also decided on a slogan, "A COMMON THREAD" if you wish to incorporate.

An interesting fact about the company, like TOM'S for every Sleeve purchased one is given to one unable to afford the product. These will ship all over the world.

Forgive the personal element, just wanted to project the reasoning/symbolism behind the logo.

#44 Appreciate the flexibility in the design, however we prefer it more strait forward like your entry #29. love the addition of the stitch, love the bonus logos.

#45 even a lighter blue, and change the white stitch of the actual "Sleeves" to brown (try coffee) we like your direction.

#47 this is raw, we love it, at this moment, consider it a tie for first. Would still like to see if it is possible to take this and make it look more like fabric with a more realistic stich font. The outer stitch is good, it is the actual word we are looking for.

#50 love the patch behind the patch and the stitching around the edges, different than what we originally anticipated but good. Your #48 entry could benefit from the same border around the square patch in the back. Good colors and unique entry.

#57 So good, highly memorable, simple... would love to see the font done in a stitch line, love the "common thread" font and placement.

#46 This is so close, this embodies nearly all of the elements we are looking for. Would be interesting to see with a smaller font and different color variation. Perhaps an off center placement of the font.

#51 Love the dual patch, would like to see a smaller blue patch behind the brown, also a different color variation, perhaps try something totally different that the submissions so far, like different shades of grey complimented with a bright color.
#60 Cool, fun, love the needle underline, good colors. Would like to see an additional stitch around the perimeter of the cloth... Excellent cloth.

#70 this has much potential - We like the patchwork behind the font. we would prefer the patches to be together, it comes across as a bit... thick not quite sharp enough. This may sound double minded, but what we are after is something between #70 and #57.

We love #57 for the memorability and its union of cloth and crisp clarity. It would be nice to see if you could add depth to the cloth somehow.

#71 We love the creative font with stylized logo. We like the modern look, a bit away from the original concept, would be interesting to see if a stitch could be incorporated, even as an underline.

We love the direction of the contest and would like to offer some guidance to all participants. Note***** this is not meant as a solid direction but a concept that goes with the theme. Feel free to do with this what you will. We would like the patch to have two different colors of cloth separating the logo right down the middle, with two colors separating the right from the left, if the color you chose was purple, the lighter purple on the left and the darker purple on the right. We would like to see "Sleeves" written in a calligraphy style font on only one side of the logo, the darker side or the right side. As I am sure you are well aware, the fonts can be found at dafont.com and other sites for free, these fonts are contributed by the artist and dafont is not a "rip off" site. On the other side of the logo or the lighter side of your logo, or the left side, We would like to see simply the "S" centered (or off center) in the darker purple font, without the rest of the word. Let me know if this makes sense. Remember the color is only given as an example, use whatever you like. We can make color changes, if needed, later.

Please note the screen shot i did on my computer for reference.
