#18 is interesting, but the circle behind the logo looks too much like the moon. We're wondering if there is a way to make it more clear that it is the sky and not the moon.
We're very much interested in #3, but with some minor changes to see if we like it better. We wanted to see the canopy lines like in #62. We'll get back to you with additional comments on this design.
Thanks for all your submissions. We're getting down to a couple of designers like yourself who we want to communicate with more as we approach the end of the contest...
Some of our group like things about the "little orange dude" concept, but we'd like to see a couple of things tried a bit differently:
The little dude ----------------- At least one of our group prefers the little dude in #67 passing through the "y" rather than overlapping it in the other versions -- feeling that the overlap may cause a busy and crowded feeling. But we're also a bit concerned that the little dude may be just too little. On chest-pocket embroidery, a business card, or a ballpoint pen we wonder if he'd just be lost. Since he's the most distinctive element of this design, could you see a way to make him bigger and more prominent? Maybe he drops just one leg in the "y"? Maybe he's beside the words rather than above them?
The typography --------------------- The typeface for Milwaukee, especially, is pretty bland and looks tacked-on. We'd like to see Milwaukee have somewhat more equal prominence to "Skydive," since the brand is Skydive Milwaukee.) For example, we think #54 did a pretty good job of balancing the 2 words while giving each a slightly different twist.
If the little dude can be made more prominent, and the wordmark a bit more distinctive, we can imagine using these elements together and separately for different purposes. The wordmark might go on a t-shirt sleeve while the dude covers the back of the shirt. Or maybe the dude goes on a baseball cap alone... etc.
