Hi Luckykid! Thanks for your entries. #38 #39 are the better ones because an abstract logo could symbolise our 4 elements olive oil products , skin care, yoga and yurt. Something square is not right though because we live on a land with rolling hills and a magnificent sea view, not so much square.like the writing over a symbol, handwriting must be easier to read though. #35 the frame looks too Indian style -maybe because of the yoga, but we do not want to mix our proudness for producing locally on Waiheke Island, new Zealand with Indian ornaments. The yoga mrs b teaches should stands for posture alignment, finding inner peace and balance , not for India. # 5 is too olive focused and mixed up, not simple
We love that you post a good variety of logos, not always the same idea.
#52 - Wow! This really made us both smile! Nice one! It is simple, bright, vibrant. It would be great if you try more versions along the same lines?? Just to see different options?? so the same thing, but maybe in other colours or placements???
In addition, would it be possible to see different Symbols along the same lines??
Hi Kent, #80 #81, The font us great. Very interesting as you want to spend time finding our what is going on in the logo. For me it is a bit unbalanced because parts are missing in the puzzle. Regards Mr and Mrs B
Hi Kent, #91this one surprised us - Mrs B loves it - for Mr B it is too sophisticated and playful. Mrs B loves the resemblance of the B to typical New Zealand ornaments like koru and panga from the New Zealand bush. Mr B is right that like this too much is going on in the logo - like the olive on the i - good idea but too much and too olive. Placed on Number one for now because Mr B is a nice man and loves his wife but number 91 needs change. #95 looks more balanced - can you give some explanation?
#86 and #84 look to much like a big corporate organization
Thank you so much. Sounds like Mr. B is a smart man. I'm "luckykid" because of my wife. Started calling myself that when I met her at Art college in '87 and we've been together ever since.
I will work on it and sooner or later it will be exactly what you need to suit both Mr. & Mrs. B
#228 the mirror writing we don't like - not simple to read... #210 #211 like the bigger writing. Anything different than the little b's that could go in the quartered symbol ? have to take 4 little b's to bed now - will come back soon. ..
Hi Kent, just asked the few friends we have about out top logos. Most said that yours looked too chinese - ahhh And when you thought once of it being chines, it always looks chinese... So we need a New Zealand Twist.
the #256 looks like two cats. Mrs B has a cat allergy. So no B looking cats. #257 could not convince us either . Sorry . Please come back.
#262 Hey Kent, good one. Thanks for going off the chinese and going the extra mile at this stage. We like the "B" made from two parts. For us it is a little bit too robotic. Can you add a natural or New Zealand ornament style? Not sure actually how it goes further after the last hour is gone. Hope all works out !
I understand. Thank you for the feedback. With most of my entries I have been trying to also make any interesting icon that will translate well into multiple applications. Eventually the icon can stand alone.
I also thought you might be able to use that icon in dies to stamp the shape into a lot of your products.
My most recent one is more in line with the name since it is simple.
#265 and so on. that does not do it for us. But we have decided you will be in the top five anyway - because we like working with you. So we guess you can take it easy for the next hour and than we start fresh to the next stage. Take care and be proud on your work and social skills. Mr and Mrs B
Thank you Mr and Mrs B. Look forward to any feedback that will send my designs in the right direction. I really enjoy working on your logo and looking for your responses.
Hi Kent, how does the contest carry on? what do we do now? How do we pick the 5? Or has this already been done based on our final ranking?? Beginners I know.. Thanks Mr and Mrs B
Hi Mr & Mrs B, You don't have to pick the top five. The top five are automatic do to ranking. So during this phase only the top five can submit. Once it moves to judging phase only the top spot can make changes. That will be me of course :) , or at least I will strive for that.
Good Morning Kent ! Uff- last round - we are exhausted - cannot believe how you guys always feel...
I posted a general comment - please have a look. The decision will be either for a logo that works for all 4 parts of the business or just an iconic "SimplyB" and then we will use/develop 4 logos in addition for the other parts later. As you can see satto, wes wos and pip work on a universal theme, nong on a female iconic B. At the end of the entry stage yesterday we had to decide between your iconic B and the one from Max, which we both liked, went for you because you gave us the impression that you are the guy to work with because we communicate so well and you already worked so much for our project ! Thanks for that! So I guess now it is on us to give you direction - although we'd love if the logo we want just falls from the sky... So how about you working on a iconic "B" a strong one that stands out , but not forgetting natural background- all the balance and beauty we stand for. Do not focus on things like #292 and #293 any more, just on iconic "B" or SimplyB" . The NZ touch was good, but a logo like that everybody in NZ has... #282 is a bit like in the incredibles, we don't go of that. #290 is too indian #283 #284 is see the cat... Kent, please let us know if you need us to brief you differently. Best regards- have a great day Mrs B
Thank you Mrs B. This has been very helpful. I've got ideas in my head that I'll have to work out.
When you say keep the nature part, what comes to mind for you? Stones and twigs? Or just worn and weathered? I really appreciate all the direction and I'm sure a great logo is going to come from it.
I'm still up from the other day so I might be out for a little while. Wife has a Dr. appt.
Hello Kent, This may work... hard for us to visualise right now...
We have also been thinking on how to best brief you... One idea we had was to combine an almost written "S"and "B" together - to create a symbol which at the top almost looks like a love heart .. and the totallity of it almost looks like an "ooohm" symbol.. And then perhaps (or not) encircle it (as our icon) and write in simple font either next to it or under it "Simply B"... not sure if that is clear???
I have been playing around with the pen myself and that's the best way I can describe it... Thanks for your questions and support!
#313 - I (Mr B) think it looks like we are really going in the right direction. We are ranking from different locations (Mr and Mrs B) and also giving feedback independently ... It would be great to see purple added in there in some for. Letters / Or Words / Or Circle...?
Hi Kent and Mr B just saw it - and yes - I like the direction very much. Fits well to my favorite Yoga icon ! Could the lines be a big thicker to make it stronger and not so filigran or elegant ? ALSO the Simply B font needs a refreshment I think , that could change a lot ! It should look fresh, but sophisticated ! I like it with a circle around, but also maybe thicker, for a better awareness on the products ??? The beige background is also good. I am very excited about this one. Hope your wife is ok, Kent ! Bye Mrs B
HI Kent, #322 was loosing effect through making lines thicker, not a good idea of me I think. The font goes in a good direction but I do not like that one in particular. I am not a fan of these three little dangling things in the middle of the heart - could me olives but reminds me on something else... Can you please alter ? Thanks
#326 Hi there Kent! We will be printing this on labels for lip balm, hand cremes, olive oil, pestos, brochures for yoga and yurts, and the internet. Not sure if he background of the the labels (for example) should be brownish (that was just our idea). What would be the most appropriate color, do you think??
Also, we think the purple could be more vibrant / darker?? Not sure if the letters or the icon or the circle should be purple??
The brownish background is just there to show it in possible applications. The actual logo would have a background color so it could be placed on any background or paper use wish. I would also provide other variations if you ever need it reversed. Thanks again for the feedback.
Thanks for the commitment! Which would you choose at the moment from the designer perspective? #326 or one of the new ones from #335 to #337? Looking forward - as ever - to your exciting " more"
It's also nice how this icon can easily be translated into stamping or molds for soap or other products. Plus it makes for any interesting pattern when you use them staggered.
#355 font is good - we agree. #337 with purple background is nice too.
The SB - less swan like and perhaps a little " thicker" ?
Would like to see what you think the label / internet / brochure background should be behind the logo / icon. I can't imagine it being white. Mr and Mrs B
Well, just making the impossible possible - having it clean, natural, interesting, attention seeking, meaningful, unique - and all at the same time.....
I know why I could not be a designer... Know my limits.... Best regards - sending energy over the ocean! Mrs B
I know that was just a color change and you are probably going to need it in multiple variations. I really hope that you do choose my design. I still can make all the modifications that you might need.
Hi Lucky Kid! Not sure if you have the time (or energy) but if you do: one final challenge (over and above what Mrs B wrote above!): The B - (the last swirl of the bottom " bubble" of the B - seems to make the S look like a bit of a zig zag... any chance to improve on this?? Cheers Mr and Mrs B
