First let me say God Bless your ministry. My father has been a pastor for 30 years, and we have experienced the joys...and trials of church life. I pray the Lord will guide your ministry.
I Always take a different approach when designing Church logos because I recognize the importance of what they represent.
I generally stay away from generic imagery (Crosses etc...unless they are requested. This icon needs to represent YOUR ministry, and speak of what YOUR calling is for it.)
I also know the bondage of old time rituals, and how they can rob our freedom in Christ.
So my 1st idea for you comes from:
1 Corinthians 7:23-24 Tells us: "Then a huge sum was paid out for your ransom. So please don't, out of old habit, slip back into being or doing what everyone else tells you. Friends, stay where you were called to be. God is there. Hold the high ground with him at your side."
In other words: "Bloom where and how you were planted" Your Church gives Gods people the FREEDOM to do just that.
I took your suggestion about Walmart and came up with a simple abstract flower opening in bloom.
Please feel free to offer any suggestions or feedback.
This may be more detailed than you are looking for, but its a design that has gotten some positive feedback here. It may be a good fit for you, because there is a subtle message, while it is attention getting at the same time.
The message is that of a journey. That seems to offer hope (The rays in the distance) Your church body is the vehicle that leads them down the path to the only true source of that hope.
Thanks for your comment and the thought you put into this. What a blessing to meet a brother in Christ... especially on LogoTournament!
We like #91 and #92. Both of these have a lot of potential. Here's a few things to try:
#91 - Smaller flower, and maybe a few different emblem ideas or variations. #92 - Really like the path and rays, but maybe version with less detail, or another way to incorporate this in the logo.
I really think you're on the right path. In addition to trying a few things with #91 and #92, could you also please explore a few different concepts.
Thanks again for your time and work.

PS. I'm the CEO of Envoy Media Group, Inc., and we do many many web design and logo brand projects every year, and we're always looking for great talent and even more important, good people we WANT to work with.
This is a path through a valley...which may fit nicely with your region....It can be stacked vertically like the others but I laid it out horizontally to show the option....
For #92, to get a few different options, could you please try a few things:
Incorporate a cross Incorporate a symbolic dove Try some less flashy colors Maybe try less font 2.0 effect and more of a flat, simple effect Any other ideas?
Also, we like #91. Could you try some different icons/design elements, as well as colors.
I am in and out all day today...I am logged into LT almost all of the time, but am not always in the studio when it says I am logged in. I will submit some ideas per your requests above later this evening, well before the end of the contest...
Hey guys...I just thought of this simple, yet clean and modern idea. I went back to your Walmart idea. Instead of an asterisk, like they use, I chose a small cross/burst design. I love the color scheme, and the modern simplicity would fit nicely with what you are about. It sits well with the facebook/twitter generation that is drawn to simple concepts, while holding onto some strong traditional elements.
I simplified the color and shape...This works as a favicon for your web address bar as well because it is square. It also makes it work both horizontally (shown) and vertically as in my other designs for you. I did not know if you might be looking for just a wordmark without an icon. I could come up with ideas like that as well, but they are not used every often because they dont give you a recognizable mark, and they can be harder to copyright than an iconic mark, but if you would like to see some ideas in that direction just let me know. You know what you need better than we do.
Thanks again, I'll be working hard for you up until the end.
Alright it's final, we are really happy with what you've done. Thanks so much for all the thought you put into it and all the revisions. Hope to do business with you in the future.
