Following your directions, I created a highly stylish and modern logo, that will definitely get the right image across to your customers.
You mentioned you don't want a house in your logo, but you can clearly see there is nothing cliche about this mark.
I'm 100% sure with this logo, but you are the client and I will be happy to make any changes.
