Thanks for the two entries. I like the concept of #35 but it does feel slightly flat and a little too simple. It is a web-only logo, after all. And whilst it's good to have a bible in the logo, this bible isn't quite right somehow, probably because the cross on the inside of the bible looks wrong.
As you said #36 is even simpler, so the same comments apply, but even more so.
Thanks for these extra entries. They are better. However, the headphones around the closed book doesn't work for me. It looks as though the book has been clamped shut, whereas an open book is a much better metaphor. Although I like the 3D effect, and the slightly more sophisticated graphics, the basic look of #35 is still stronger.
Both #53 and #54 are better than #44. With regards to layout, I like #35 and #54 much better than #53
However, in becoming more sophisticated we've lost some clarity. I think a main reason is that we now have grey pages - white is better. It would also be good if the lines of text were SLIGHTLY darker than in #35
I'd also be interested to see what you think the best colour scheme would be - ignore colour suggestions I've made, and just give me your suggestion. I want the logo to look bright and appealing, but not garish.
#56 is your best yet! Could you perhaps try in with two-colours, rather than two shades of the same colour? In terms of colours #54 is the best - two colours + black. Unfortunately I don't like the orange of #57 and the red is #55 is too dark (it looks more brown than red).
The grey used for the bible text is about right in #56 but if you make the outline colours bolder, I think you will need to make the grey darker too.
