Logo Design Brief

Client
What We Do
Note: Short name of our company is "Sequel."

We work with municipalities, governments and the tax payer to design, sequence (hence "Sequel") and implement projects utilizing Integrated Resource Management (or IRM) and assemble existing resource and waste recovery technologies to form economically viable, sustainable and cost & resource efficient energy loops.

Our company is based in Vancouver, Canada. We are working to achieve a national and global focus while remaining down to earth with "local" appeal.
Industry
Natural Resources
Color Preferences
We would consider any of the above (i.e. wordmark, Pictoral Mark, Abstract Mark, Letterform Mark)

KEY - Is ZEN, simple, clarity coupled or balanced with industry (crisp, sleekness and sharp).

Key - Zen - "Simple" & "clean" is the goal.

Not keen on characters or cute and cuddly imagery.

The general public, government and professionals are our target audience.

Colors - Interested in color schemes employing themes of Zen, purity, environmental, sustainability and responsibility coupled or balanced by industry. We like Blue, White, Green (British Racing Green), Orange, Red, Black. PLEASE NOTE: NOT all colors need be employed in the logo. Again - Think or Zen and simplicity. Not keen on incorporating too many colors.

We are in the process of attracting sophisticated investors, financial institutions and governments to enter into joint ventures on a number of sustainable infrastructure and resource recovery projects. It is important to get the balance between being "user friendly with the public" but "sophisticated, cutting edge and exclusive with potential investors and private equity firms". Again, Zen and harmony without being hokey or flakey.

Again our company represents a new approach to sustainable infrastructure development and integrated resource recovery solutions. Think of Zen and simplicity coupled with industry.

We want to appeal to the tax payer/government but also investors and financial institutions looking for a unique investment opportunity.

We favor being secure over adventurous which is how we conduct our business.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The focus is Zen and simplicity. We are also taken by the idea of "arrows" and "loops". See Above Under: Target Audience - "What We Do" - Industry (i.e. regarding energy loops).

I attach a preliminary concept of the name "Sequel" with an "arrow" and "loop" concept developed for a business card as a first step. Please feel free to depart from the attachment but incorporating arrows and loops would be advantageous.

"Zen" and "Simplicity" coupled with Industry are key themes we are keen to capture in our logo.

We are open to any and all good ideas. Feel free to explore, be creative and push the boundaries while adhering to keeping it ZEN but "simple" coupled with "industrial".

We are not married to the attached idea but the general consensus is that "arrows" and "loops" visually conveys our product and approach to integrated resource management and resource recovery.

Again, we are looking for something strong, relevant, current and cutting edge while remaining zen, simple and industrial (sharp & fresh).

Key - Keep it "Zen", slightly sleek & crisp (sharp) perhaps even minimal. It may help to think of music by Philip Glass and West Coast minimalism if you need inspiration.

Initially, the logo will be used on business cards, letter head and on a web page.

ROB,

we are not permitted by LT policies to comment on other designers submissions. This would be a breach of LT rules and could lead to suspension from Logo tournament.
