Thank you for your entries. #14 is a good example of the type of clean look we're going for. I also like the shield concept that's on this one and another couple of entries, including #15. If we could make the icon represent a security (the shield), a network (the dot and arched bars) and audit, by making the bars or top of the shield represent a fingerprint, that would be cool to see. Not sure if this would work or appear too busy. While the shield icon is my favorite at this point (one day in), I also ranked others that have the type of look that we prefer.
I've used LogoTournamnet previously and I always hate to drag an entry into the "not interested" pile. Please know that I do appreciate your work and your interest, but I'm going to kill everything that doesn't represent what we're going for, even if it's very good work. Thanks again to all and I will do my best to continue to rank & provide feedback.
Thanks for the tip about communicating directly with the designers! This also helped me find my comment that I posted earlier, I meant that to go the group, but it looks like it just went to you. Oh well..
I would like to merge your concept of the shield with the network icon with the style of #67 & #30. I'd appreciate it if you would take another swing at using that type of font. My idea of integrating a fingerprint into the shield may be a pipe-dream, but if you could somehow merge the wireless "bars" into lines like a fingerprint on the top of the shield, that would be cool.
Thanks, Glendon. I think I agree with you about the fingerprint, that may have been too ambitious on my part! I'd like the font to match in both words (Secure and Link) but am at the point where I'm going to get feedback from a few other folks at the company. Thanks for all of your effort.
Question for you... does it do a designer any good to have me rank their design if I know I'm not going to choose it? It bothers me to discard someone's hard work without recognizing it as good. Asked another way, do designers get paid or recognized for being ranked, even if they're not #1 (or #10, etc.)?
Excellent, thanks for the insight. I liked the thinner font & have made that my top ranking for now. One very small tweak, would you nudge the icon a little closer to the text and also put a micro-space between Secure and Link? I am going to review with my team and some customers tomorrow & will thin the herd of entries then. Thanks.
Thanks, Glendon. I will be posting the finalists for a vote among my employees and a couple of customers. To enhance your odds, I'd suggest offering the same icon design with a font similar to #30. At first review that's the font everyone seems to like.
