Thank you very much for your work. We like #70. May be because the shape, or the tipography, is not modern enough. We are looking for a siple logo, but also modern. You may be want to take a look to the ranking to figure out what modernity is for us. The SEAL presence will be always more important than the one for the symbol. At the same time, so much black color on the SEAL brand wheigt very much. Our watches are strong and solid, but that is may be too much. How could your design work when horizintal version, when symbol on the left of the logo? Thank you so much,
Thanks for your great work. May be it is just a coincidence, but what you have shown in your symbol is an S but also a rough graphical expression of important part from the movement of every automatic watch. That part is called Wheel, and is the responsable of the tic tac. Well done. Symbol in #121 #157 and #158 can work.
General comments (Logo+Symbol)
The strength, consistency, technical fiabily, hardiness and reliability is not definitely solved. We like the mentioned versions because they are simple, clean, they transmit quality and confidence. We do not want to loose that, but we need to find the way to show how powerful our watches are. If you can not dive 500, 1000 or 2000 meters deep in the sea is because your body can not do it. Our watches can. And you can trust them wherever you go, whatever you do.
About the logo:
May be Tipography is the key to contribute for the solution about the mentioned. We want something modern, but modern in Watchmaking world and envoirement means something veri different than in other activities. Precission and sharpness are crucial in mechanical watch making. The tipography has to help also to show this. May be no rounded. May be thicker. Sorry, we are not the designers. Keep only the idea.
About the symbol:
Just to remind you that the symbol will be reproduced also with no background. And without background it will may need consistency. We are not sure about this. Just a thought.
Just checking if fine detail within the logo is still an issue Can fine detail be reproduced at a small size on the crown of the watch? If so please let me know and I can work on a more detailed logo
Hello Gary, Your work is really good. Please, read the ultimate post about the project. There you will find general comments. There are no particular comments about your design more than those. I was about to mention what you solved on #396. May be it is a visual efect, but now the edges os the "S" seams to be not fully paralel to de "S" central bar. We want to make a decission asap, so go ahead with what you consider.
Sorry, just to mention that the symbol we realy like is the one in the rankuin with its vesions specified in the general post. You don't need to work any more in the symbol.
We will register the logo to protect it. Once registered we will have to show the "R" for registered trade marks. In some other countries it is not a n "R" but a "TM". It is not relevant, but it is also something that comes with the logo, and we think it is de designer who has to say where to place it in his design.
Please, consider to separate just a tiny bit the S from the E. Jus consider it. Take a look at the S. Whow to make it more simple? Is all I can say about this. You will know on tuesday our decission. Thank you.
I can confirm that you are the contest winner. Congrats. And congrats also to us, because we have a really good logo. We are very much satisfied. The symbol represents very well our identity, based on mechanical writswatches made for intense use.
I will make the official comunication in one hour.
Please, think obout the mentioned versions. What you did in #347 is what we call Possitive Version, to be used according to the background. About the version with brights and shadows (for example what the other finalist did in the logo ranked second), I know it is more than we can expect for what we pay. It is your decission to do it or not.
I hope our logo is something you can be proud about.
