I think it is getting close, I think the colour could be warmer or richer, I am not sure what the best colours are for Security, red green gold? Of course it has to be appropriate for Press Web and Stationery.
By the way some designers have offered to set it all up for us letterheads etc for free if they win, this is the first time I have used Logo tournament so not sure how it goes. We do have some other projects so if this goes well we will launch the others or work with whomever wins! All the best Geoff
I have been dwelling on the 4th ranking design and trying to get what I like and what I feel needs modifying, I think the wing tips give an impression of being a bit sharp as is the crown, I think it is getting close.
On this logo I think it looks ok but the door looks like an arrow pointing down, I think we need to look at UK colours red white and blue. Cheers Geoff

Hi Sparkhaven, Hmmm, although I have ranked this one it is still not there nor are the others to be frank, I dont quite know how to get it across that SDS, contrary to the image it currently portrays on its website, deals with the highest level of security worldwide and needs a logo that does not look too young and commercial, it is not a burger king or rope manufacturer it is operating with heads of countries and the very top security co's so it needs class and style without being too garish and also not being bland! Tough I know, there are ten hours to go.... cheers Geoff
Hi - Been working on these over the weekend. Hopefully these new ones are conveying the right feel - to be honest if your current no1 ranking is where you want to go then I'm not the right designer for you as my interpretation of your brief is nothing like that sorry as I'm more corporate - good luck with the contest :)
However at the last minute we received the logo ranked currently at 10 and the team are leaning towards it. The colours are not quite right but the design is more symmetrical than your No 1 ranked suggestion, what I mean is it is not as high and has less white space so it would sit on cards and printed materials in a more balanced way.
It is difficult to make the selection, as you have participated more than any other I would like to ask you a few things and see if we can nail this.
If no 10 changed the colour of the sds to more of a deep blue as your 3rd ranked logo and if the idea in the 8th rank logo style could be incorporated, we could lose the grey circle and have the infill white so that we have red white and blue rings - this would be a much better finish, but it doesn't mean it is necessarily the best choice, do you further ideas as to how we could work with you?
When it comes to providing the finished work one of the competitors suggested that they would even create our cards and letterheads for us, what do you offer. Your answer will not influence us on who becomes the winner, I just wanted to know how you work?
Hi Geoff - those designs are the original ideas of said designers and I wouldn't want to incorporate any of them into my design as I don't believe in doing that. That sort of thing does go on in here by some of the hobbyists on here much to the detriment of the other pro level designers but that's not the way I work sorry.
If you'd like other designers to change their logos then you'll need to put me out of 1st place, rank them 1st and then ask them to change things as that's how the system works here once it goes to judging.
On my design if you're concerned that the logo is too high then I'd look at maybe changing the perspective and adding some gradients to my graphic if that's required or it can work reduced and perhaps placed to the side? Do you prefer the font that's closer to your original or the one on 1st?
As far as offering to do your stationery in with the price of $300 (about £170 by the time LT has taken their cut) I'm not into that sorry I have to pay bills as well and I think the amount of time I have put into your contest is more than fair for the price. If you'd like to commission me to design your stationery outside here at minimal extra cost then no problem but I can't give my work away it goes against the grain :)
