Hi Revotype, thanks so much for entering my contest! I really like the whimsical & fun feel to this! I like the unique colors too. My main concern here is that I'm almost certain that I would not be able to get away with using this similar of a likeness to Apple's real logo.
Hi Scott, first of all i would like to thank you for considering my entry, i believe apple's logo is great and very basic it has nothing complex and maybe that's makes it very atractive to adapt, i think there's no infrigmet to their image, cause this "top toy" is not longer an "apple" it has certantly a few details that appear to have some relation with apple's trademark (the leaf at the top & the bite) and in fact is part of the idea that people when see it immidietly may think is has something to do with apple but is now such a complete different concept, right now i am running a sort of investigation to present you real facts and examples that this aproach is not affecting legal parts from apple's trademark. This icon is very powerfull and recognizable and the most important very playful along the concept you are looking for to wear. I forgot to suggest you that maybe here at logotournament there can be someone that probably has a different respectful thought with imparcial point of view about this that might help us, Thanks again Scott.
The problem is that Apple is not like other companies -- they are EXTREMELY litigious in regards to protecting their trademarked logo. There's just no way that I could legally get away with a logo this close in resemblance to their logo, particularly with my high profile in the Apple community. Apple will sue.
However, your logo is totally playful and whimsical, which I love!! If you can come up with a different concept for what's actually being spun on the top, I would love to see it.
