Discussion

We like where this is going but are still open to all designs.

Idea: What if, there were a lit fuse coming out of the top like a ticking time bomb that is about to go off? Also, what if the N, F & P were Caps? - The burnt orange looks really good with the site to.

#12 - Looks great . . .the ticking time bomb! - time bomb with a fuse that is!

Love the ticking time bomb idea too. Is there anyway you could add the tag line just like logotweek (the logo that is ranked #2) did where it's partitioned by the "p" in "play" into 2 sections with diff colors for emphasis.

Thanks so much!

Here is the problem that I have and do not know how to fully say this without stepping on peoples toes. I like a combination of the two designs that are ranked one and two.

1) I Like the idea of the time bomb theme in graphic ranked one (entry 12)
2) I Like the font and the two tone colors in logo ranked two (entry 25)
3) I Like the way the tag line is separated and the tag line colors in logo ranked two (entry 25)

So how do we combine the two ideas into one without upsetting the two designers?

the font treatment by logotweek looks like a customized treatment, so that would be their element to protect. likewise, the time bomb graphic would fall under the category of being mine to protect. it is possible to utilize both designs/designers in the process if logotweek is agreeable.

i can play with the font to see what's out there, but i wouldn't be open to matching their treatment.

regarding the tagline, i'm not sure that anything customized is in there, but as i said, i would be open to discussing with logotweek the possibility of a split.

Is there a way for the prize to be split?

Logo Designer
yes, but i am not sure if logo tournament admin would have to be involved. perhaps contact admin and ask what the best method would be? i know there have been split contests in the past. i'm just not 100% sure what the process involved.

i see sandra is on board with a split as well. i think that's great!

Here's what they said:

Hi David,

You're a model CH!

If the designers agree to split then you select the designer who most reflects what you want and the other designer will be 2nd. The winner will pay the 2nd place designer. Please feel free to use the basic wording of the LT rights transfer with the 2nd designer.

Best regards,

What's LT rights?

Logo Designer
that sounds correct. regarding the LT rights, Ivan is referring to the contract that is in place between each contest holder and the winning designer. I believe he is saying just get an agreement from both designers to abide by the transfer of rights on the graphics so that you own the complete concept...

Okay...so where do we go from here>?

Sandra and I have spoken, and we love the way Ivan worded the process. We'll leave it to you to decide which design/designer wins gold v. silver. Once you close the contest, the designer you choose for gold will then finish the process in terms of combining the designs and uploading the final files. We are both open to your decision and we'll work together through the process. The gold designer will then take care of splitting the payment with the silver designer.

Thank you so much for all your consideration throughout this process. You've made it very easy for two designers to work together. We both appreciate it greatly!

Sincerely,
Bob

Okay, here's what we're going do.

We're going to make graphic # 12 the winner since we are sticking with the time bomb theme. However, can we play around with different variations of the bomb? Maybe just some slight changes to the bomb's shading or a different looking lit fuse? Just some different options I guess.

We like the font, the way the tag line is set up, the gradient colors and the outline in entry # 25 - Don't know if the outline will look good with the lit fuse on the bomb though.

Let me know how you guys want to do this.

i will work on some variations of the bomb for you to see during these last hours of the contest. the combination of the concepts won't be able to happen until after the winner is selected. so i will try to get you some different looks at the bomb concept. more to come!

thanks!

Sandra and I were talking and she sent the source files my way so that you could see the combination. As of this point, you are only seeing the combination of the two concepts. I haven't made any real modifications to the 'o'... Let me know what you think or if you might like to see anything else.

stepping back to my previous mark with the idea of communication rather than the spark on the fuse.
