Our Ideas & Additional Information
The Saskatoon Berry Institute of North America is composed of farmers, processors and commercial consumers of the Saskatoon Berry, also called the Pacific Serviceberry, Alder-leaf Shadbush, Dwarf Shadbush, Prairie Berry, Western Juneberry, and June Berry. The species name is Amelanchier alnifolia.
These berries look similar to small blueberries, with a unique berry taste. They can be eaten raw or made into pies, muffins, jams, and a variety of other recipes.
The purpose of this organization is to research and promote issues pertaining to the growth, benefits, sales and use of Saskatoon Berries.
It would be serendipitous if the logo also served to create within consumers a sense of affection and excitement, such as California Raisins and California Cheese "Happy Cows".
We are looking for a logo that promotes the natural aspects of berry production, the delightful flavor, and the health aspects of Saskatoon Berries.
The tournament winner is likely to reflect the farmers and berries, rather than buildings, other institutional references or hard edged geometric shapes. The logo will contain the organization name and the graphic.
