Hi sko, these designs are really great. Here are some thoughts I have in looking at them.

I wonder if we might like it better if the steeple was either a bit more abstract (but still identifiable as ours - not sure that's possible) OR if it had a little more detail in the steeple (so it shows the little spined/spiked accents like in this photo: https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8d/Ruggles_Baptist_Church_steeple_-_Boston,_MA_-_DSC03055.JPG)

I also wonder if the focus was just on the top 2 sections of the steeple so it would be less long and keep the steeple fully contained in the circle, like in this logo (https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/561603404305166337/u6Qkswxo.jpeg).

Finally, I found this photo outline of the steeple online if it might be helpful: http://buphotojournalism.smugmug.com/JO305/Spring-2013/Flash-test-and-silhouette/i-c2gWLXs/0/XL/JungwooPark_Flash%20tet%20and%20Silhouette%201-XL.jpg

Thanks for your designs!

Sko,

Wow that looks great. If you're able, some on our team like the more abstract one you did first over the opaque black circle, but we're wondering what it might look like if it was just the top 1 section (or top 2 sections) of the steeple all inside in negative space all inside the black circle (kind of like this: http://d1nwfrzxhi18dp.cloudfront.net/sites/54ad4d48d2adde8633000006/theme/images/forthechurch-logo-web-lg-color.png?3a42cfd8c1e960e9acb392c4263ab244). We're also not sure if our little rooster would look nice on top of that or not.

Thanks again for your submissions. We can tell you are very talented!

Sko, wow that is so great! I don't want to speak for our whole team, but I think that's my favorite so far! Would you be willing to do a few variations of that?

I'm specifically wondering if you might make it look a bit more modern by making the lines a bit thicker(?) and also if you could do one that isn't negative space, but just with the circle and steeple outlined...Basically, I'm kind of thinking the style of this (but with our your steeple design of course, not a lighthouse): http://assets.shopcoffeetable.com/products/images/original/420/544afca538dbe0797e559b1687d184d456f2f29d.gif.

Also, if you have any other ideas for font or just the "Ruggles Baptist Church" text in general, that would be great to see, too.

Thanks again for being so responsive.

Hi Sko,

Thank you again for your submissions. Again, we are very much loving your designs. Thank you for choosing to share your talent with us! We were wondering if we could see some different versions with some more specific changes at this stage.

1. First, would you be willing to put the design in just a simple black? I think we also might be interested in different colors, so if you could show us a couple of different colors (red, blue, green, and yellow) that would be great! But, if that would take more than a just few minutes to do, then don't worry about that for now.

2. Second, I was wondering if you could put the "Ruggles Baptist Church" to the right of the logo instead of underneath. Could you make it so "Baptist Church" is underneath "Ruggles" and make it the same width as "Ruggles", too? I'm not sure if you can see other entries, but I'm thinking something similar to #14 as far as positioning.

3. Third, regarding the "Ruggles Baptist Church" text, would you be willing to submit a handful of different fonts/font ideas for us? We want to bridge modern and classic/historical, so....we already have the steeple look, so I'm wondering if a more modern type might be good? Or if we want to have a more traditional looking font? We're not sure. So I'm wondering if you might be able to provide us with a some different options for us to choose from. I think seeing your ideas will help us!

4. Finally, I know I mentioned this to you above, but I'm wondering if you could try doing a black-on-white version of the logo, where the steeple is simply outlined in thick black with a circle around it. Just like this (http://www.goppca.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/lands-end.jpg), but with your steeple design instead. Does that makes sense? It may not work, but we would just love to see what it might look like.

I apologize for the long comment, but we're excited! Thank you again, Sko. Let me know if anything is unclear of if you have any questions.

Hi Sean,

Wow, these other options look great. Thanks for doing all the colors. We especially like the black and white ones with the "Ruggles Baptist Church" on the side of the image. Do you think that looks better or the ones with the text underneath? Also, we're trying to go for a balance of historic and modern. We're leaning toward the more modern sans-serif font, #64, but we also like #61, too. What do you think looks better?

Thanks again,
Josh

Hey Josh,
Its a personal preference. You can't go wrong either way. If you are trying to go for a balance of historic and modern then I would go with the font that is modern. You already have the church which is classic/historic.

Thanks, Sean. I think we like the more modern font better, and we're favoring the one we have ranked number 1 now, #64. I asked a graphic designer friend of mine about it and she loves the design. She only suggested potentially a lighter weight font for “Baptist Church” and adjusting or widen the tracking (spacing) on the words by a few points (she says you'll know what this means).

Do you think you could alter #64 just slightly in this way? I'm wondering if she means to have the font look a bit more like the font on this church's logo at the top of their homepage (http://www.parkstreet.org/), but I'm not sure. We're at the super minor/nitpicky stage, but I think we're really close to selecting.

Thanks again for your advice and responsiveness, Sean. Let me know if you have any questions.

Looks great, Sean! Would you be willing to make the "Ruggles" part a little less heavy and wider like you did with "Baptist Church"...just to see what it looks like. Thanks!

Hi Sean,

We've selected you as our winner! We're so grateful for sharing your talents with us. We were wondering if you might be willing to send us a variety of color versions, as well as the black and white version that we selected. We were thinking a red, blue, green, orange, yellow and purple. Also, would you mind sending us the names of the colors and font(s) you used as well? Thank you so much again, Sean! It was a pleasure to work with you.
