I really enjoy it when the CH can connect to the design and say that he/she LOVES it! Everyone gets to share a great sense of satisfaction when a contest works well. I'll make the adjustments to #88 and resubmit. As to the US citizen bit, I'm born and raised in south Louisiana and nothing would make this good ol' boy feel better than to fulfill your goal! Thanks for the kind words.
It can get pretty competitive in these contests, so I thought I'd submit a couple of variations for your consideration. My whole intention with these is to represent you while still appealing to your potential male clientele. I think using abstract elements to represent the theme tends to speak to a broader demographic.
I really like the feel of your entry #117. Could we try a variation?
I'm wondering if there is a way to make the rose image less abstract so it appears to be a rose. Maybe we could utilize an angle from the profile so we see just the top of the rose petals from a profile angle.
I like your entries #143 and 144 very much. I really am attached to the circle idea as it has meaning to my practice. Would you be able to add the circle element to your recent entries?
Also, can the bottom of the flower not be sitting so much on the bottom of the ring? What I mean is make less of the bottom of the flower sit directly on the ring. Hope this makes sense.
I've submitted a couple of revisions based on your requests. I mentioned to you earlier that it gets fairly competitive with these contests and this one is no different. I just got a message from The Day, who is currently second, accusing me of taking his design and asking me to withdraw my current entries. I do not feel that I have done any such thing, but don't be surprised if he attempts to take me to Logo Court. I have yet to go up against an Indonesian Designer who does not try this when they have been removed from first place. I have informed him that I will NOT be withdrawing. I am hopeful this will not sour your experience. I'm calling his bluff, so we will just have to see what happens. Thanks for all your feedback! If I can do anything else, just let me know!
I appreciate your honesty about the nature of the contest. I am very clear that you did everything I asked you to do. Your design is a result of my requests and comments. You have done a very nice job of incorporating all of my preferences into your design. Now I have a design that I feel expresses exactly the message and impression I want to convey to my target market.
If posting a public comment would help matters, please let me know and I will do that. If so, please communicate to me exactly what points should be covered.
Thank you. I'm very happy to hear it. I don't think a public post will be necessary. Since we have entered the judging phase with no further response from The Day, it's probably safe to assume there will be no fireworks.
Thank you for the great experience! I will now upload your files. If you need anything further, just ask. Now that the contest is over, I am allowed to make available my services separate of the LT. Should you care to have any future work done( letterheads, alternate color variations, other design work, etc.), I'd be happy to assist. In the event you do, my contact information is as follows: Brett Morris- #318-542-6382 or e-mail-muskittboon@yahoo.com. I hope you had fun and receive tons of compliments on your new design!
