Rossamaxa, I just wanted to thank you for all the work on this contest. Sorry that we didn't connect on a design on this one. Wish you all best on all your other contests. Thanks again.
Hi rossamaxa, hope you're well. Had a thought here. Got some overall feedback from family and friends that many of the logos were too generic and didn't tie closely enough to some of my products. I don't agree in all cases, but I did want to see what you think about trying to tweak this just a bit. My idea is to add a carrot to the base of this logo and keeping the leafy pattern on top, similar to what you have here now. Trying to tie it a bit more closely to the products I'm making right now. Main ingredients are napa cabbage, carrots, cucumbers, radishes, hot peppers, onions, scallions and then also a bunch of different nuts and seeds. What do you think?
Hi rossamaxa, thanks for submitting more designs! Here's what help I can offer right now, as my very top ranked logos (1-5) share a few qualities:
1) They all have some sort of image/logo that is separate from the "Rick's Real Food" font and text. Each is different in design, but each one has some sort of natural/organic/food/plant type of image, in addition to the text. All of yours have this, so all good here!
2) I want this for a few reasons
a) I like it.
b) I want to be able to use both the full logo (text and image) at times, but I also want to be able to use just the image without the text for things like web icons, t-shirts, hats, etc. So this is a must-have for me--but, again, you've already covered this in all of your designs, so no issue here.
3) The logos I have ranked most highly so far each have a very subtle 'r' worked into the image in some way. The 'r' does not dominate in any of them--the 'r' is embedded very subtly into the design of the image in ways that I find very inspiring.
The two newer logos, while they do contain R's, are a little too R-dominant for me and not quite subtle enough. My favorites of yours--which I really do like--are the two that I have ranked very near the top 5. Not sure if there's any way to embed a subtle r into either of those, but that would be more what I'm looking for at this point.
Hope that helps--thanks again and don't hesitate to reach out for more info or questions.
Hi Rossamaxa, I wish I had a better, more direct answer for you. This is my first attempt at doing this and I didn't have one specific thing I was looking for. I've been thrilled at the amazing creativity that designers, like you, have shown in the designs they've submitted. When we were using Roots, rather than Rick's, I was definitely more interested in roots and tree themes. I've found, now w/ Rick's, that while I'm still liking designs w/ trees and plant themes, I'm also really digging ones that incorporate an "r" or "R" into them in some creative way. They don't have to, but the ones I currently have ranked most highly all seem to have incorporated an "R or r" in them somehow. I like your design as is, or I wouldn't have ranked it. If I could be more specific on what I'm looking for, I definitely would! You've already captured some of the simple/natural/organic/clean themes that were important to me. I think after those--which are "table stakes" (American slang for essential/required features) qualities, it's going to come down to gut feel and how a particular image/logo just "hits" me. Pls don't hesitate to ask any specific questions and I'll do my very best to give as direct an answer as I can! Thanks again!
Hi Rossamaxa, so nice to see you joining this contest. Love your ideas--very organic. Love to see this one w/ the image over the text, but love the image and like the font and color choices too. Thanks! Hope all's well in Russia. All best, Rick
