Really appreciate it Kent. :) I have two college juniors at home w/ me going stir crazy and a high school freshman who's bored out of his mind because MA can't figure out online home schooling. They'd rather protect the 0.00001% of kids who might not be able to participate than provide online classes for the 99.9999% of kids who can. Crazy... My business is pretty shut down right now too, but my wife works for a health care co so she's on OT and I'm managing the house, kids and trying to get a new company off the ground all at same time...

Wish I could share the other logos with you to give you a sense, but that's obviously not cool. The top ones vary a bit at this point and range from a cowboy/cattle brand "rocking r" logo to some that have root vegetables integrated into the Rick's or on top as a separate image, to more plant-based logos. There's no clear theme at this point--more just eclectic logos that speak to me and relate specifically--somehow--all different--to something I'm making, whether it's fermented vegetables, smoked meat, nut butters or others. I wish I had more guidance for you right this second, but this is my first attempt at doing this and I didn't have a specific design in mind when I started, so a lot of what I've done has been to learn about what I want as logos and designs I like help me to refine my own branding ideas.

I completely understand. Everything right now has been difficult to adjust to. My full time job has been put on hold now since we had to close. And my daughter schedule is usually crazy with all her activities. She just turned 10 and was doing about 10 hours of ballet a week and in a you chorus that performs with the philharmonic and in the opera too. She had 14 performance in the last two months of the year. Now adjusting to virtual schooling seems like another job.

Just hoping to get on the right track. You seem like a very nice guy that really cares and just the kind of person I'd like to work with. I've been designer for over 30 years.

I don't want to waste your time but any quick info like more realistic or cleaner. I'm trying to go in different directions hoping one peaks your interest to explore further.

If not, I understand.

Not really sure why I want to keep trying because I've never been ranked in this contest but I feel like I want to be a part of your success. Hi Kent, thanks for submitting all of these designs! Here's what help I can offer right now, as my top ranked logos share a few qualities:

1) They all have some sort of image/logo that is separate from the "Rick's Real Food" font and text. Each is different in design, but each one has some sort of natural/organic/food/plant type of image, in addition to the text. Nearly all of your designs embed the text within the image.

2) Separating the image and text is critical for me for a few reasons
a) I like it.
b) I want to be able to use both the full logo (text and image) at times, but I also want to be able to use just the image without the text for things like web icons, t-shirts, hats, etc. So this is a must-have for me.

3) The logos I have ranked most highly so far each have a very subtle 'r' worked into the image in some way. The 'r' does not dominate in any of them--in no case is it just a large r or R with some leaves or something on it. The 'r' is embedded very subtly into the design of the image in ways that I find very inspiring.

Kent, here's some initial feedback on this series of designs: I do like the vintage look of these and I like many of your font choices, but I'm not digging the roots flowing out of the S. I'm looking for something pretty simple, organic and clean, so my favorites of the ones you've submitted are the circle logos. I am definitely planning on doing some hats and t-shirts w/ pockets, so a logo that works well on a t-shirt pocket, but also on a business card, or for a web icon, is a big plus for me. I kind of like having the logo and the text separate often times so that I can consider doing t-shirts and hats with just the logo and not the text. Hope that helps a bit--if not, definitely ping me back for clarification or ask more specific questions and I'm happy to reply! Will be back after consulting w/ family again on Sun or Mon. All best! Hi Kent! So sorry for the lapse in communication with you and thanks so much for the kind words. I pretty much checked out once I headed down South for the funeral and then had some challenges getting my daughter back home from Spain...been a long few weeks. Fortunately all is well. Hope you're fairing well in FL. Know some of the metro areas there have been reporting lots of cases of Covid-19. Used to live in Tampa in mid-late 90's but no relatives there now. Used to have family in Marco too, but they've all left the area for one reason or another. So, no relation that I'm aware of. Thanks again and all best!
