Color Preferences
Black & White - I am intrigued by black & white as it seems simple and impactful. With that said, I am concerned it may not be exciting enough.
Green & Grey - In the past, we've used green & grey (check out rockvilleinteriors.com) to convey wealth and sophistication. I still like these colors very much but open to alternatives.

Our Ideas & Additional Information
Ideas to explore:
1. Fabric Background - The starting point for all of our projects is fabric. We help you pick a fabric and then make it into a product. For example, we'll help you pick a fabric for draperies in the Living Room and then we custom craft the product and install it. You can see examples of a lot of the fabrics we use at http://www.romo.com/. Perhaps the logo could someone how look textured and have a roll of fabric in it???
2. Playful/Fun/Easy - Each of our projects involves 3 steps - designing, fabricating and installing. I have a vision of small stick figure people that are designing, fabricating, installing on/around the letters of Rockville Interiors. For example, a little stick figure person climbing a letter like a ladder and hanging something on a wall. Please don't get carried away with this idea. It sounds fun and exciting and I would like to see some options like this but it should not be your exclusive focus.
3. 1971 - Check out how we worked Since 1971 into our current logo at http://www.rockvilleinteriors.com/. I want to work this into the new logo. I would like it to be a bit more subtle though. For example, Rockville Interiors is in thick black letters, perhaps "Since 1971" can be written vertically in white along the leftmost part of the R??? I'm not married to that idea but some subtle way of working 1971 in the logo is needed.
Competitor Analysis:
https://www.theshadestore.com/ - The font seems simple yet powerful. Fun color scheme. Es kind of look like window blinds.
http://www.hunterdouglas.com/ - The simplicity of the font and color scheme are nice. I worry though that it seems a bit stark/harsh.
http://www.calicocorners.com/ - I enjoy the font as it seems really friendly/fun. The lower case letters make everything feel calm and relaxing which is important for us.
