Thank you for your submission, EdEnd. Hadn't thought of using a compass rose, but that is an interesting idea. If we did something like that, I think I'd prefer an older style compass rose--something like the Anglican Communion logo. (I will add a link of it on our page.) With something like that, we could put the wolf's head at the top, where the bishop's mitre is on the one for the Anglican Communion. And in that case, we should probably go back to something like the traditional wolf's head that is shown in the images. I will try to scan one that someone drew for us that is not quite as rat-like as the one from the family crest. I like the lettering, except for the RC .

I've added some general comments and a few more images. The wolf's head comes from our family crest, so I have uploaded an image of that to help you see where it originates. I've also added a couple more images and a comment that may help. Thanks for your efforts!
