Hope you like these new ones. The waves can come out or any other changes you might have. Trying to make it more about the name (river) rather than the heron.
Hi Kent, while I really like it where the bird looks like a river, the boss is asking for the bird to be beefed up a bit. She thinks it looks a little sick! Can you submit some variations where the bird's body is a little bigger? Thanks in advance.
Hi Kent, we're thinking we need more of an encapsulated logo, where the typograpy is within the circle or the oval? Can you say "River St. Joe" and then "Organic Brewery" on bottom. Can I also see one where the grey area and the lettering have a gold leaf effect? Thanks.
Kent, the rest of the team is going to review all the submissions closely but I really do appreciate your time. One thing I've kept hearing is "simpler" with the river and bird cleverly integrated, which I think yours does well. Maybe try this: Just a circle (no oval) with the bird representing the river like you have it, no typography, and a golden hop for the bird's eye? It can just be one color (blue or green?) where the land is the color and the river/bird can just be the absence of color (white).
Not sure if I did the ones you wanted, but I was just at home for a little while. I'll be home tonight. Let me know how to make it a perfect fit. Thank you
Kent, did I response to this one? I really like how it's coming along. Can we try one where the barley, river and heron fill out a black outliend shape? What you did already forms a nice swoosh type shape. You could have the legs of the heron and beak over lap the black line outline. Maybe see how it looks if the three images, the barley, river, and bid are also separated by a thiner black line? Thanks so much for your hard work on this already.
I just came home for lunch break but I'll work on entries with your feedback when I get home later. These I just did before seeing your comments. I live in Naples FL now, after graduating from Ringling in 1990.
What a small world! How about something simple using the initials RSJ, where the "R" is The land, the "S" is the river, and the "J" is the heron? The tyopgraphy can be something elegant like easy to red cursive font? Thanks! Looking forward to having you at the brewery in a year or so!
My Dad went to Niles High School.
The heron was really a river in the shape of a heron. Any guidance on the typography you'd like to see below the icon? I collected beer cans as a kid and had over 3000 different cans. Many are well over 100 years old now. Cone tops and flat tops. There were quite a few breweries in the area. I still have 500+ cans. With your help I can make the perfect look.
Take care

Hi Kent, thanks for this. We're in Buchanan, MI. You can check out my recent comment in the discussions. While your draft is nice, we're looking for much simpler. The heron in the center alone or framed more simply is really nice. The "River St. Joe" words doesn't necessary need to be part of the logo itself. Thanks so much.
I grew up in Granger, IN (South Bend) Is this on the St. Joe River in Michigan or Indiana? One of the few big rivers to flow North. I used to fish in Bering Springs I would love to make any modifications or variations you might want. Thank you for this opportunity - Kent

I like distressed but I'm just one of the decision makers. I would stick to non-distressed for now.
