Our Ideas & Additional Information
The "rhizome" is both a botanical and philosophical term. In botany, it is a modified subterranean stem of a plant that is usually found underground, often sending out roots and shoots from its nodes. Rhizomes are also called creeping rootstalks and rootstocks. Rhizomes develop from axillary buds and grow perpendicular to the force of gravity. The rhizome also retains the ability to allow new shoots to grow upwards. For instance, ginger, is a rhizome. If a rhizome is separated into pieces, each piece may be able to give rise to a new plant.
In philosophy, the 'rhizome has no beginning or end; it is always in the middle, between things, interbeing, intermezzo.' It ceaselessly establishes connections. Rather than narrativize history and culture, the rhizome presents history and culture as a map or wide array of attractions and influences with no specific origin or genesis.
Our company adopts this philosophy for our own purposes by communicating our ability to establish ceaseless connections between our client's brands and the rest of the world, constantly expanding the territory of their brands reach---continuously giving rise to new markets and interests.
Attached are a few pictures of more conceptual (less botanical) rhizomes that we like in terms of a pictorial mark. We do not want literal "root" type pictorial marks. We like these conceptual rhizomes, but do not want it to look too pharma or even finance-like. We want to express our ability to be creative in a professional yet elegant and trend-forward way. We ask that you be as creative as possible with this "rhizome" pictorial mark, so if you think of something new or different than the attached ideas, please post them!
Thanks so much!
