We definitely like the vintage emblem / sign layout of #12 & #7. For both, the word "Eclectica" is in a font that is a little hard to see the letters "e" and "c" because they look a lot alike. But we do like that it is a retro script font - please try a different retro script font. Also, we want the first "E" in "Eclectica" capitalized.
We don't really like the Orange & Red color scheme. Try a different color scheme - we don't mind each of the colors Orange or Red, but we don't like those colors together. Maybe try some cool colors as well (blues, silvers).
Thank you so much Jason for the ranking and feedback. #13 Please let me know if this font and color scheme work any better or if there is anything else you would like to see. Best Regards, Faith
Thanks Faith, for the quick turn-around on a new version.
We definitely like the Blue background much better. I like the orange on the blue, but not so much the white on the orange for the "A Modern Vintage Boutique" slogan part. I did like the white on red for that part in the earlier design, though. Not sure if the red would fit in with the rest of the design, but maybe try making the slogan part white on red or another background color that fits in.
Here a couple versions that include red #14 with a bit brighter red than 12 (if you prefer the darker red, let me know), #15 with all red and #17 with a grey header. I have also tried out another tagline on a couple of them, if you prefer one over the other, please let me know.
For the slogan, we definitely like "A Modern Vintage Boutique".
We like both #14 & #15. Between my wife and I, she likes one better, I like the other better :)
We think the star highlight at the end of "Eclectica" is nice, but we noticed that it sort of makes the "D" above it, look a bit like an "R", so maybe you could move that highlight around a bit.
#20 and #21 with the tagline you prefer and the sparkle moved away from the "D". Do you think the red "RECLAIMED" is harder to read at all than orange?
Yeah, when I looked at the Red on Blue, it seemed that both were darker shades and I tend to like higher contrast combinations - although, I am not always correct in that :)
For #25, can you create a banner at the top like you did for #20 for the tagline and keep the white on Red for that?
For both #20 & #25, can you change the Greeny-Yellow color to another color - maybe a purer or brighter yellow or maybe a golder tone or maybe even a chrome/silver. And maybe modify the Orange a bit so it doesn't blend with the new Yellow.
Hi Faith, Do you think you could take #36 and make the dark blue background silver or chrome? My wife likes the Aqua "Reclaimed", but I am having a hard time with the Aqua on Blue combo.
We both really like #29 too (my wife likes the Aqua text, I like the Silver text), but again I am having a problem with the Aqua on Dark Blue. It might just be something I have to get used to, but wondering if there were any other options that would look good as a background for those text colors.
We are both on the fence too about the layout of #20 vs. #29 - we like them both. But let's iron out the colors first and then we can decide on the layout.
Here's a few more color options based on your feedback. It's funny, I left a comment but somehow it didn't post that I was only doing the one version mostly to nail down colors :) so I am glad you said that as well. Let me know your thoughts on any of these. I like #38 alot :) The aqua pops nicely and colors look very vintage.
Totally great call on the colors on #38! I ranked the new ones first and then read your post, so we definitely agree :)
So, my wife has another design request for #38 - can you add a carnival lightbulb-style arrow that goes partially around the outside of the sign? Start the tail arrow so it comes out from the right side of the top slogan banner and wrap it around the top right corner bend, bring it around the right side, then wrap it around the bottom right corner and then the arrow head comes to the left bottom corner end. We think that having the arrow yellow might be a good color.
Please let me know how this works for you #42. I had to try and comprimise between the 2 photos you posted as the upper right curve was a bit problematic and it looked a bit busy with the 4 rows of dots. :)
My wife really likes #42 with the light-bulb arrow. But we received a few comments from our friends and family that the logo looked a bit like "In-N-Out Burger" and "McDonalds" - so my wife and I think it might be the color layout. We love all of the colors, but maybe we can switch around some colors.
Can we make the background of the sign Aqua with the "Reclaimed" in Red. Maybe just switching the background color from Red will remove the 50's fast food reference :)
We extended the contest because it is our first time using LogoTournament and we weren't sure what happened regarding revisions after we select a winner.
That is what the judging period is for to get addition revisions before selecting a winning logo. At this point you can still receive new design submissions, so hopefully you can understand my position as I would prefer to wait to do any addition revisions until you have decided which design you ultimately want to go with and at that point I would be more than happy to work with you until the design is exactly what you want.
Now that I understand how the judging period works, we totally understand you position. We got a bit confused because the Judging pages push you toward making a final decision and did not make it clear that we could still receive revisions - we thought all entries were closed (including revisions).
We put our top 2 choices (where your #73 is our top choice) on Facebook for our friends to judge and they all chose yours too :)
Thank you so much for your understanding. I'm sorry you were confused about the judging period and I will bring that up with admin.
In judging, you have 7 days to evaluate the designs and you may only ask your first ranked designer to submit revisions, but you can change the ranking and put another designer in first position and then they too can submit revisions and so on, you can change the ranking as often as needed to see revisions. (It's a bit of a hassle, but they do that so you are not flooded with unsolicted designs during judging and to keep it fair to the participating designers.) But you can end the contest at any time if you like and still evaluate during the judging.
I hope that helps you to understand it better and I look forward to your final decision and please let me know if you need anything else.
Thank you so much for the info on how the LogoTournament Judging period works. We ended the contest early - your design is our top choice.
Not sure how this works... for the final design are you able to submit a color version and a black and white version in the EPS file? Is it also possible to have a version with "A Modern Vintage Boutique" slogan removed (keep the black marquee, but just blank)?
Oh, that's great! Absolutely, if you need a black and white version and one with a blank marquee that would be no problem. I can only upload the winning logo eps and jpg through LT but the other versions can be sent directly to your email.
Now that we are able to see the logo in a larger format (I blew up the EPS in PhotoShop), we noticed that the silver "scratches" on the background traverse the silver border toward the top of the logo - can you edit it so those scratches are only contained in the blue background area?
