Thanks for the invite, here is my first concept... I plan on jazzing this up a little with highlights, shadows etc. later on tonight, but I just wanted to post this original concept right away.
I like the idea of a contained logo, but am getting a whiff of "batman" in it and didn't want that to be the first impression. Also, if you can show an option with the slogan (though it can be separate from the logo, that's actually preferred).
Very nice updates to the concept. The batman effect seems to have been handled nicely. I like how the logo is a singular unit. You are the first person to use the "briefs" as clothing in a design, which I thought was interesting, since we liked the whole dual-meaning of the name and figured a designer would pick up on that. Many of the designs so far are pretty serious, which is certainly good, but I had thought that there might be a more whimsical approach from some, not quite cartoonish, but less rigid.
Anyway, two questions/comments. Are there any other color combinations that you would suggest (still staying gender-neutral, but possibly in the green or other strong primary range?). Secondly, I like the type treatment, but do find it a bit overwhelmed by the rest of the design. Can you try to address that so that the words are easier to pick up?
I left out the shading that I had on the previous versions, making it a little more simple. Let me know if you would like to see the shading in these new versions. Thanks
I liked the design of #48, but the colors weren't working for me and then I saw #51 and thought it was much cleaner without the colors. Perhaps you could see if there were some variations with colors for #51, blues or greens or even yellows? Thanks,
I think 83,84 & 85 are all nice executions of this concept and that's it is in a good place. I cant' think of any other changes I'd ask for at this point. I like these ideas a lot and have a real challenge in the coming days to decide. If you have any other ideas, let me know. I'm straddling a line here, but I know that many of our users will race for the fun of it, not to say they don't take their sport seriously, but their not professionals, so I'm trying to find a logo that is both serious, but has that fun element ingrained as well. That could be through the image, type treatment and/or color.
Anyway, excellent work. I'm amazed what the designers have done in such a short period.
Hi Don, So, I'm still working my way through this decision. I'm wondering if you could show me 2-3 different type-face options paired with images #83 and 51. I'll leave the recommendations up to you, but something a little different than what you feature in those two images. I like the sense of motion, but would be interested in a little thicker, possibly something a touch rounder, I'm not sure, but just for comparison's sake.
