#164 and #171/#172 are both essentially letterform logos, and we are trying to avoid that. We are looking for a unique, unforgettable abstract icon that immediately captures the viewer's eye. The liquid filling in #171/#172 is an interesting idea, but it looks much too artificial. We want all of the elements in our logo to look photorealistic.
#152 is currently in our top ten because it's got a fairly good technical feel to it, and it's neither too invasive nor too minimalistic. The 3D effects on the icon and the gradation on the text look a little cartoonish, though. Can you make them more subtle and polished and photorealistic? The font choices aren't the best, either: we need something that's still technical or scientific, but a little more professional. #152 is probably better than #151 because the blue accent color matches better in #152.
#152's icon itself, however, is slightly boring, being essentially a fancy circle. As mentioned, we're looking for a more exciting and captivating icon, and that means we're looking for an original shape on which to base the image. Can you think of some new ideas?
Also, we need to see any submissions on white backgrounds and dark grey backgrounds so that we can see how they look in their intended usage.
