Quality Metal Products, IncLogo Design Contest

Hi All,
Thank you for your interest. Some interesting submissions so far. I am an engineer so I have absolutely no artistic taste at all and my comments will probably give evidence of that.
Most of you submitted a blockish type lettering and the engineer in me likes that ( our original logo used Copperplate Bold). This is difficult to describe for me but a bit of flair is good.......but not a lot.
I'll try to comment each day.

Hi All,
I had to go out of town til tomorrow. I did get a chance to look at the logos tonite but I do not have time to comment or rank them. Some great ideas there! I will be able to comment and rank tomorrow evening and I will stay on top of it until the tournament is over.

You folks are really good!! I did some sorting and re-shuffling tonite. The top 4-5 are all very close and the ones I have not ranked yet I will rank tomorrow. I don't think any of them break into the top 5 but I have to sleep on it.
I am also going to check with my printer to see if he sees any items that concern him. My letterhead paper will be a light gray along with the envelopes.
Right now I am torn between the QMP and the independent Q designs...both with our full name with it.

I just updated the rankings. I still have some in the unranked area because I am trying to decide where they fit and trying to picture them in use.
Tonite I will also re-rank them and I am going lean toward the ones without the large colored background.

I am extremely happy with the response and the designs you have all submitted. I don't think I could go far wrong with many of them.
I have made a couple small changes to the rankings but with so many great designs I think I will only be able to make changes that will affect the top five or six from here on out.
Just to summarize some of the decisions I have made: first, the horizontal layout is my favorite, second, I would rather go with the blank background rather than the large color background, Third, at first I didn't think I would like just the Q standing out in the logo but it has since grown on me, Fourth, I do favor having some red in the logo.
One of you is going to make a boring engineer look extremely good!!
