could someone please explain to me the type of files (JPEG???) that will be given to me once the winner is selected? I'm just curious if the file format that will be given to me will be compatible to be used on clothing, merchandise, website, stickers, promotional item?

you'll receive .jpg & .eps. The .eps is what you'll want for professional print services. You can also request additional formats if necessary. Your winning designer should be able to help you out specifically with the correct formats.
