Good Morning Zie,

Thank you for the creative logo entries #85, #86 & #87. I like all of them very much. Overall, they all express a vibrant, creative mood. These logos explore new territory and I appreciate your imagination.

#85 & #86 have a innovative graphic that is very compelling. Overall, I like the round shape (like the earth), the bottom of calming and supportive blue water and the top with a beautiful flower unfolding with a burst of yellow (like the rising sun) enveloped with a redish-orange globe. The margin between the top and bottom has a heart shape. The edges of the flower are white which clearly outline the flower petals. The upper left part of the top has a round area ("circular sheen) which looks to me like the rays of sun coming from the inside yellow of the flower. A very visually rich yet clear graphic which expresses the wholistic philosophy of the Psychiatric Wellness Center. I like the calligraphy of the first text line in #85. It is long, lean and "musical". The flow of this line expresses the artistic collaboration of empowering therapy. That is, the emotional message of the graphic #85 is echoed by the emotional message of the first text line. Putting "for children, adolescents and adults" lower case is an interesting idea. The text lines of #86 are easier to read at first glance.

#85 has a solid blue water which feels more relaxing to me but #86 has the horizontal white lines in the blue water which look like waves in the ocean to me and thus has more energy and activity.

#85 and #86 are very compelling images and a major logo contributions to this tournament.

#87 is a beautiful and compelling image that is more simple than #85 or #86. My friend in the printing business reminds me that this more simple image would work well with photocopying (essentially a black and white version of the logo) and other marketing items such as pens or note pads. A simpler yet very creative logo.

Suggestions:

1) #86 and #85 Please make the first line "Center" rather than Centre. Centre is a more elegant spelling but this exotic spelling can be confusing to people in this part of the world and may take the focus of the key message of the logo. Also the official legal name of this business is "Psychiatric Wellness Center For Children, Adolescents & Adults, PA."

2) #85, #86 & #87 Please add ", pa" to the end of text line 2. I think it is alright to use lower case for the "for children, adolescents & adults, pa" because the key focus is the relationship between the feelings expressed by the graphic above and the feelings expressed by the first text line but the ", pa" is legally and clinically important to indicate the professional nature of the Psychiatric Wellness Center.

3) Could you please say a few words about why in #85 and #86 the upper left hand of the top part of the globe has a "circular sheen." I like this very much and would appreciate any thoughts you have about why you included this in the design.

Thank you for these colorful and expressive logo entries in this tournament. These logos are outstanding work.

Regards,

Dr. Tom

Good Day Zie,

I have been talking with some colleagues and your colorful and creative logos are very attractive and meaningful to their eyes. They have given me some useful suggestions.

Suggestions:

1) #85, #86 and #87. In text line 2, please capitalize the first letter of each word. Thus, the text line 2 will read "For Children, Adolescents & Adults, PA". (I needed to amend by Suggestion (2 from my previous note).) This is to recognize the importance of text line 2 and the people who are represented by this line.

2) #85 Would you please try using a bold version of text line 1. I like elegance and beauty of text line 1 but it is not quite as easy to read as text line 1 of #86 and #87. I don't want to take away the tall, thin beauty of text line1 but is there is a bold version of this it might make it easier to read text line 1.

Thank you for your creative contributions to this logo tounament. I look forward to seeing your revisions.

Have a good day.

Kind Regards,

Dr. Tom

P.S.

Suggestion 3) In #85 & #86, would you please change the color of text line 2 ("For Children, Adolscents & Adults, PA") to the bright color on the upper half of the circle. The color of the current text line 2 appears grey. We would like a bright color that would still be easy to read.

This would reflect the harmony between the color of the text line and the colors in the graphic like you did in #87.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tom

Hello Zie,

I have been showing your beautiful logo entries to more people and one suggestion for #85 is to make the first text line not only darker (?bold) but also larger (with a larger font.) The concern is that the "globe" is large relative to the size of text line 1 and 2. Thus, using a larger font would make the text proportional in "visual weight" compared to the globe. The globe graphic is receiving very positive reveiews.

Look forward to seeing your revisions.

Sincerely,

Good Morning Dr. Tom, (already night there?)

Apologize for this late response. You wrote it in the morning and I read it just in next day morning;)

Thank you very much for spending your time to give this long & very clearly comments...appreciated.
You're definitely right, what you said exactly same as my thought about my design concept.
All of my entry have rich philosophycal meaning as you mention...its about energy, fresh, relaxing & well atmosphere...and also balance (represent by sphere with blue and green that slightly like yin&yang in chinnesse culture). About the 'circular sheen' in my design is to emphasize the message of fresh mood & relaxing...

Here are some twealking for you...
Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any suggestion... I always welcome for any chenges & request.

Thanks & regards,

Good Morning In Indonesia to Zie,

Thank you for your thoughtful comments and your new entries. I really like them and appreciate your ability to create a compelling graphic that is inviting with rich meaning but also simple to apprehend.

#102 is awesome! The thicker and taller characters of text line 1 really make the text "visual message" proportional to the visual message of the sphere. I really like the calligraphic like font used in text line 1. Overall, a vivid, welcoming visual expression of the values of the Psychiatric Wellness Center. Outstanding work!

#103 I really like text line 2. It is easier to read than in #87. #103 has a simple elegance that is quite captivating. I like the outline of flower petals arising from the surrounding heart shaped blue water. Very well done!

#101 Text line 2 looks great. Overall, a great look.

#104 Thank you for exploring this concept. It is interesting but it might look more balanced if the "Psychiatric" were centered rather than left justified. A good effort.

#105 A special thank you for developing this monotone (photocopy mode) logo. This answers the question of how a photocopy of the logo will look. The logo is still recognizable and this alleviates any concern about the identification of the logo in photocopy mode. I appreciate your extra effort.

Overall, this is an outstanding body of work. These logos are imaginative. warm. welcoming and rich with meaning. The visual message of the graphic (the sphere) harmonizes with the visual message of the text lines. The emphasis is on text line 1 and the expression of text line 1 in the graphic (sphere).

Thank you for this wonderful contributions to this logo tournament.

Good Morning In Indonesia to Zie!

I have been studying your wonderful and colorful logos with some colleagues and I would like to make the following suggestions:

1) #104 Would you please do a version of this logo with the first text line "Psychiatric" centered above the middle of the words "Wellness Center" below it. Please use the font shape, size and color of #102 (tall calligraphy) for all the words of the "Psychiatric Wellness Center"

2) #104 Would you please do a version with everything the same except using the font shape, size and color of #102 for text line 1. This version keeps the "Psychiatric" left justified so that it looks like

Psychiatric
Wellness Center

Thank you for your creativity and energy.

Sincerely,

Dear Zie,

I have reviewed my previous note. Suggestion 1) on #104 was typed so that the "Psychiatric" would be centered over the "Wellness Center." When I reviewed the message sent to you, it somehow got left justified agin. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks,

Dear Zie,

Thank you for your prompt response and your attractive modifications of your logos.

#155 looks more balanced and visually open with "Psychiatric" centered.

I like the calligraphic font style in #156 & #157 for "Psychiatric Wellness Center" but the size of "Psychiatric" is too small.

Suggestions:
1) In #156 and #157 would you please use the same size font for "Psychiatric" as you do for "Wellness Center". It would make it easier to read.

I am thinking that #102 would work well on stationary letterhead and brochures while #156 (with "Psychiatric" the same size font as "Wellness Center") would work well on business cards and envelopes.

Thank you for your time and energy in exploring these concepts.

#158 is interesting but to me it takes up too much vertical space. A good try with an innovative perspective.

Dear Zie,

Thanks for your rapid response.

#159 and #160 are important improvments. The font size of text line 1 ("Psychiatric") is larger and looks almost like the font size of text line2 ("Wellness Center"). Thus, text line 1 is easier to read is easier to read in both #159 and #160. However

Suggestion: For #159 and #160 it still appears to my eyes that text line 1 has slightly smaller characters that text line 2. If this is so, would you please try using the text font size and thickness of the text lines in #102 and use it for #159 and #160. Thanks. Again, if the two lines are not in balance, it will distract the reader from the important visual message of your beautiful and creative logo entry. [If the text line 1 and text line 2 are already using the same thickness (bold) and character height (font size) then no correction is necessary.]

#161 is very attractive and an innovative concept. I will take time to study it carefully. Thank you for your continued wonderful creative work.

Sincerely,

Dear Zie,

I had another idea for #159. Since the sphere is on the left of the text lines do you have enough space to work with so that the space between text line 1 and text line2 is increased (? 1 and 1/2 spaces) so that the "y" in "Psychiatric" does not cross the "ll" of Wellness. This may not work but if it does you could also slightly increase the space between text lines 2 and 3.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for the rank & suggestion..
Actually, in #159 & #160 already have same size of the fonts..
Then I try to increase the space in #175, but I think its not so nice looking..

Regarding the advise from Clickspace, I want to proposed some variation with this font type for your kind consideration...
There is not to confusing you, just need to give you some option..

Dear Zie,

First, let me say ignore the feedback from clickspice. I totally disagree with clickspice and this is an interruption of my communication with you at a vital part of this logo tournament.

I have sent the following to the logotournament website:

Dear Logo Tournament.com Website,

I am having one major problem that must be addressed immediately. My communication with a leading graphic artist, Zie of Indonesia, was interrupted by a comment from another "Logo Buyer" named “clickspice” of Sweden. This clickspice gave Zie feedback that is totally different from mine. This is an intrusion into my logo tournament and must be addressed immediately. Zie has already developed two other logos based on clickspice’s advice which is not the direction I want to go. This is not only wasting Zie’s time and mine, it is threatening the integrity of this logo tournament.

No one should be able to interrupt a conversation between the graphic artist and the logo buyer. I hope you will be responsive to this request because it directly affects the viability of this business model. I can not waste my time responding to outside logo buyers inappropriate feedback. The only one who should be able to communicate with the graphic artists on a logo tournament is the logo buyer who pair the fee up front for this logo tournament.

Thank you in advance for your prompt resolution of this critical problem.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tom

NOW TO RETURN TO OUR CONVERSATION!

#159 & #160 I see what you mean that the font size of text line 1 is the same as the font size of text line 2. The size of the font in both text lines 1 and 2 for #159 and #160 work well. I also agree that #175 does not work because it makes too much space between text line 1 and text line2. However,

Suggestion:
1) for #159 how about moving the text line 1 to the right a bit so that the "P" of "Psychiatric" is centered between the "e" and "l" of "Wellness". In this way the "y" of "Psychiatric" is moved to the right of the "ll" of "Wellness" and the "y" does not cross the "ll" or at least it is minimized. (This is like the positioning of the text line 1 & 2 in #178.)

Thank you for developing alternative font styles in #176, #177 and #178. These are attractive business styles and would work. However, the reason I like the font style in your original concept of #102 is that is looks like an "artistic personal" approach and not just "routine business" approach. (The ultimate personal style in America for wedding invitations is to have a calligraphic artist personally address each envelope. It signifies the artistry and importance of the personal touch.) A fundamental principle of the Psychiatric Wellness Center is a personal approach to taking the time to know our patients' life story and the impact it has had on their current lives and developing an individually "hand crafted" approach to developing a plan of action to empower them to learn new positive life skills. All this is to say that when I first saw this font style, I really liked the artistry it expresses. To me it expresses the confidence, safety and stability of taking the time to develop a personal approach.

Thank you for your creative energies and I am sorry about the distraction from clickspice. I appreciate your keeping the focus on the logo tournament.

Kind Regards,

Dr. Tom

Dear Dr. Tom,

Yes, what you're thinking exactly same as my thought...'handwriting font' is reflected personal touch, friendly & caring...
Ok, lets focus on your logo..

Regarding your last suggestion, I have submit new entry ( #181). This entry is looks better but not exactly centered.. I already aware about this before, that's the reason why I submitted entry #156 with word 'Psychiatric' in smaller size because I want to maintain the centerline position without distracted "y" and "l" too much :)

Do you have any suggestion?
I always welcome for you.

OOT, I just seen some latest entries from other designers become following my design concept. They using my concept with different approach... But I'm sure that you're very equitable & wise. Hope you understand about this condition..

Dear Zie,

Thanks for your note. I also like the "handwriting font' of the text lines in #102 as I have previously mentioned.

The stacked version of this logo #181 works well to my eyes because it is readable and the space between the "y" of the "Psychiatric" and the "ll" of Wellness. To my eyes #181 works better than #159 or #156. #181 will work well for business cards and envelopes. #102 will work for letterhead and brochures.

However, I appreciate your exploring other font styles. #177 and #178 work together well and are clear and easy to read in both regular and stacked versions.

I aso like #179. To me it evokes a simple, direct and honest approach visually. Thus,

Suggestion:
1) Please create a stacked version of #179. I know it is a simpler font but there is something about the tall simplicity of this font that works with the direct colors of the sphere.

Thank you for your creativity, energy and flexibility

Good Morning In Indonesia to Zie,

Thank you for #204. As you can see, I am now leaning toward #179, the partner of #204. This font works great in the standard orientation of #179 and the stacked orientation of #204 with no problem centering text line 1 over text line 2. It draws my eyes from the text lines to the sphere with no distracting elements. The key focus is the harmony between text line 1 and the sphere in both shape and in color.

To me. #102 is artistic and energetic. However, the font does not look as good in the stacked orientation. I can also see that to some people it is a little hard to read.

Whatever font is chosen, it will be the font used to create other signs for the office as well as business cards, envelopes, letterhead and brochures, etc. The font also needs to "look up to date" in the future and I could see how a simpler style may age better than a more complex font.

I look forward to sharing this information with collegues and getting their feedback.

Thank you for your dedication, imagination, flexibility and creativity.

Sincerely,

Dr. Tom

Dear Zie,

Thank you for your outstanding work so far. I appreciate your creativity and responsivenss to suggestions.

I have been studying #103 with an architect friend. To his eyes, the font style of text line 1 in #179 is the easiest and clearest to read as you move away from the computer. This "readability" is a key factor in being happy with a font in the long run as the font is used for multiple business purposes. So,

Suggestions:
1) #103 Could you use the font style in text line 1 of #179 and place it in #103 to see how the graphic would look with this font style in text line 1.

2) #103 Could you outline the flower petals with the greens you used in the upper part of the sphere in #179.

3) #103 Could you add the yellow in the upper sphere of #179 to the middle of the flower petal in #103. The inside of the flower petal in #103 is now green so I wanted to see what it looked like with a yellow center.
Yellow is such a happy color and it looks so great in the flower of #179.

4) #103 After you revise #103 with the suggestions of 1), 2) and 3) could you do a "stacked' version of this logo to see how it looks in this orientation.

My architect friend especially commented that #103 has a "three dimensional feeling of freedom and opening up" that is compelling.

Thank you for exploring these visual ideas and concepts.

Thank you for your dedication and energy on this project.

Greetings Zie,

Congratulations! Your logo entry #211 is the 1st place Champion of the Psychiatric Wellness Center logo tournament!

Your use of inspiring, vibrant colors, 3 dimensional space, artistic asymmetry in placing the lotus flower within the heart shaped pond and your original heart and lotus flower design resulted in a logo that is warm, welcoming and hopeful. This logo is a visual invitation to hope and to work together for personal transformation.

Both the regular version #211 and the "stacked" version #212 work well together for the multiple purposes of this project. If both versions can be sent to me, I would appreciate it.

This logo tournament attracted literally some of the best graphic artists in the world. They produced a stunning array of beautiful logo entries. Your logo entry #211 was the best in the world on this project. I congratulate you for your imagination, your flexibility in responding to feedback, your prompt revisions
and the superior quality of your work.

Again, congratulations on your outstanding work. I wish you continued success in your career as a graphics artist.
