You are totally on the right track. The use of the "Y" as an Olympic torch was brilliant. .
What I'd like to see a variation of some kind that can somehow incorporate BASEBALL in some way shape or form.
The laces of the baseball in the flames, or the baseball diamond (field shape) as the flames, or instead of separating the bottom of the Y with that slant, make it a home plate shape at the bottom. Google "home plate" which is an icon in baseball, and that could be the bottom of the "Y" symbolizing this is for baseball.
To give further feedback:
1. We DON'T like
#20 (gradient). The more simple and clean - the better.
2. I'm not sure what the separation at the bottom of the Y is supposed to be or represents. I don't mind seeing the Y extend down past the bottom of the other letters just not sure why the separation is there. Is there any significance? Instead of a random shape, choosing a significant shape like home plate will make sense as the separation.
3. We don't like the flames on
#19 - they look "corporate".
