Color Preferences
+ deep black
+ orange; something around Pantone 021C or RAL 2003

The orange is supposed to be something like the road sweeping vehicles around here. It's quite eye-catching, almost like the roadmen's vests, but not as reflective.

It's eye-catching, it's associated with (heavy-duty) work and with deep black I find it almost classy.
Just imagine a matt black service-car with orange logo on it.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
existing CI can be found at http://www.procompsys.de/

I like keeping things simple and practical. IT customers and users usually receive and work with quite complex technologies that have to be as easy as possible to cope with... self-explanatory as far as possible - not to say fool-proof. As this is one of the aims of the company's services, the logo should as well not to be too complex.

Existing logo adapted from rotary lobe pump was my own idea when literally "playing" with the letters I & T (information technology) and appears quite congenial regarding the technical aspect and that "everything is running round and smoothly", maybe even "keeping complex things simple" or "I see it, I dig it".

The dinosaur (scientific name: "procompsognatus") was actually only inspired by the company's name "ProCompSys" (Professional Computer Systems). Thankfully it later turned out to me, it might symbolize agility and assertiveness.
I still kinda like it, though I dont't think I'd raise it to the company's primary logo. I'd like to maybe keep it as a "subordinate" logo. Sometimes people ask, what the dinosaur has to do with all this, so I can tell them: "His name is almost the same as the name of the company - procompsognatus."
Anyway I'm, still not quite comfortable with it... it should be more "stylized", but whenever I tried do do so, it ended up looking... strange.

With 2 days and 0 hours to go I'd like to share a few thoughts.

Thanks for the 7 (4 unique) logos so far, but none of them really caught my attention up to now, as they lack the reference to the contents of the contest brief... except for #7 of course, which is a slight modification of the existing logo. Picturing the "non-artist" target audience, I e.g. see little clouds of question marks over their heads trying to get deterget-bubbles or stackable boxes in line with personal, reliable, sustainable IT-Service.

I'm close to excusing myself for not knowing exactly what I actually want, but after all that's the reason why I'm here and started the contest :-)
I'm not quite sure if a completely new logo replacing the rotary lobe pump is what I want... I still like it very much. Maybe it just needs an "upgrade"? Or maybe not? But new ideas are stll welcome as well.

Nevertheless I call for ideas focussing on the abstraction of the dinosaur (procompsognatus) to something that "harmonizes" more with the existing rotary lobe pump. Though it has led a lonely existence as a "subordinate" logo so far, I'd like to strengthen its right to exist alongside with the rotary lobe pump, as the term "procompsognatus" is so close to "ProCompSys". But that ambition inevitably calls for a design-upgrade of the dinosaur in my eyes.

Any comments are welcome.

As the open phase is coming to an end, it appears to me that I'm just mentally too stuck to my own rotary lobe pump in its existing form. I've seen some nice adaptions and versions, but - sorry - I still like my own best, though I admit it could use some little shadow or something, like in Corvin's work (p.ex. #13).

Anyway, now that I've seen the first dino-suggestions coming in, it got me completely hooked!
I guess, this is the way at the moment to my personal inner peace. :-)

Oki-doki!
I'd like to short-list the massive amount of suggestions and let all of you know, what my current opponion on all of this is, just to save us all some time and work... well, mostly yours :-)
After all I need to start focussing on the finals and have to sort out a lot, so this will all come to an end finally :-)

It looks like I'm ending up with two or three final desings of different designers I'd like to keep for different purposes... :-o

First, there is cube man's #63/#69, I'd like to have for the "standard" logo of the dinosaur.
And the italic font goes very nice with the dino... I guess it's about perfect for me.

Then I have origo's #43 (with some little adjustments) I'd like to keep for "special" occasions, wall-painting, personal pleasure whatsoever :-)

And finally corvin's #17/#57 (with some little adjustments) for some other purpose that only quite recently crept into my mind. Though his #21 isn't completely out of focus yet either.

Having 3 winners in the end of course isn't something I took into account in the first place. 8-O
So declaring three winners for $375 each is way over my budget, whereas none of you will be probably be comfortable with sharing $375.
$125 each would be ridiculous.

I'm note quite familiar yet with the guidelines in this case, though I have seen in the FAQ there are entries dealing with the topic.
I'm willing to honor all the final works and would really like to keep them if the end up to my satisfaction... which appears to be the case regarding the current status.
As the establishment's budget was originally around $300-400 and I set $375, it's hard to increase the prize way over that.

So if things (logos) finally turn out to be the way I fully approve them, it would be great, if we could all find a compromise we can all live with. I'm thinking of something around $250 for each of the 3 designs. I admit this is way less than the original $375 (for each of you), but it really, really is the ultimate limit that I already would be raising with my private funds.
If we could agree on something around that, that'd be great... otherwise I'd have to kick out designs I really like.
I'd end up a little unhappy with one logo, but with my original budget of $375.
One of you will be happy about $375, two of you will end up empty-handed.

So far with the state of affairs.
We have some time left and many things can happen and oppinions and minds still can change :-)
For the moment, I'm happy and willing... please think about it and let me - and/or each other - know, what you think.

Best regards and Thanks so far!

Hello Tilo,

You forgot to also factor in Logotournament's percentage (I just want to point this out). This will reduce the prize money to the designers even more, please keep in mind that the designers joined the contest on the hopes of winning the full amount less LT's percentage. What does not get sold here, may be recycled and rebranded and sold in another contest, so it is not that the logos disappear into oblivion. In the chance that some agreement can be made, you may want to check with the site administrator to clear the payment system.

Thank you and good luck.
